Im surprised that China cares so much, would tweets get through the great firewall of China to begin with?

How strong is your nation if you can't even handle a tweet by a basketball executive. Looks extremely weak on their behalf. Your 1 billion person regime is at risk because of a tweet?

That's some pussy ass shit.

Not gonna lie it has been enjoyable watching Adam Silver attempt to shape shift his way around this thing only for his clumsy attempt to be brutally kicked back down his teeth by the no-nonsense communist regime

that it?

cause it that's the worst naysaying you've got, we're gonna go ahead and keep being confident.

danny green is the only one on that list that has a track record, and he's declining as evidenced by his shooting in last year's playoffs (maybe he will be a regular season hero)

Cook could become something but he can also be a shabazz napier

the other guys are journeymen and G leaguers

looking back, had it gone differently, it coulda gone way worse for that Ball brother when he stole that iPhone in China....

Can Lavar go there and steal something and be disappeared? It might actually do some good for his sons' careers.

This is why more players need to kneel.

On one hand I despise free speech(or at least what 21st century folk think this is) and think it's played a huge part in the literal end of life on earth.

On the other hand, everyone in the NBA sports media are acting like complete and total bitches on this. Like I'm stunned to see them bow like this. This ain't about freedom of expression, the fact that tweet is dissent rather than consensus is a fucking disgrace. Like really supporting Hong Kong makes you an outcast in an allegedly woke AMERICAN sports league? Like what the actual fuck.

That being said this could have been worse, Silver COULD have actually apologized and didn't do that. But damm this is pretty close.

if lebron stays silent on this topic, he should has no moral high ground in the upcoming elections and political climate and in regards to trump

time to test whether the beautiful league, is the one true A league

China is a huge market for any enterprise, but there’s only one NBA. There are other hotels, airlines and clothing brands. NBA basketball is irreplaceable.

“The NBA has leverage in China, if it works as a united front,” Bishop wrote in his Sinocism newsletter this week. “They cannot and will not shun an entire league. Do you really think those fans are going to be satisfied watching CBA games? There would be a social stability cost to banning the NBA in China.”

Majority of the NBA will stay silent on this including Lebern. But next time Dump tweets something stupid, Kerr and the rest will be outraged I'm sure.

Shameful.

More corporations are bowing down to China including Apple and Blizzard. Embarrassing for US companies to get controlled by another country.

on 99.9% of things you're right, this is a nba specific topic though

If North Korea has an issue with the NBA, NBA could care less...their market is nowhere near as big as China. China's population alone is more than North America by at least double! Thats a HUGE market and a lot of money to be made.

NBA, like other corporations, are in it to make money. If they have to suck it up a bit to not piss them off then I don't blame them.

The East should be fun to watch come playoff time. The West will have interesting stories as well, like how well things gel for both the LA teams, how far can Steph take the Dubs and how will things workout in HOU.

Do you think CP3 is going to stay in OKC all season? His contract is too hefty to take for most teams. Only way out it seems is to ride out the contract or come to terms with a buyout ala Carmelo in NYC.

1. people can absolutely keep their "speaking up" to domestic issues. and even then, people are not required to speak up on everything just because they've spoken up on something .

2, LeBron is currently in china. not really the time to be talking shit.

China isn't paying ANY of the broadcasting deal, so they could easily be 86'd by the NBA and have little effect on Basketball Related Income (besides what, merchandise?)

Lebron is doing a lot of "shut up and dribble"

I expected him to say at least something
