I think this fucking guy should get the Darwin award if he succumbs to the virus now. Bless his heart.

Hahaha, the Vietnamese are absolutely fuming right now, since they shares a long border with Dumb and Dumber. If shit hits the fan, they'd be overrun by Chinese from the North and Cambodians from the West.

Adding salt to the wound, the VC previously signed a treaty with the CCP years ago that says the Vietnamese-Chinese borders can not be sealed without the mutual agreement of both Communist governments <Lmaoo>

My brother in law lives in Japan, he said its starting to become as serious issue over there with nearly 700 cases, also said an 8 year old girl died but I cant find jack shit about that. Maybe its his local news, but certainly cannot confirm its true.

Then why are all credible media reporting there are only 74 cases in Japan?

Aww shiet, the new chief of the Wuhan Communist Party just announced that they will now conduct a city-wide door-to-door search and round-up in Wuhan. Anyone showing any symptom of being sick will be immediately hauled off to the factories, industrial estates, and transport centers recently converted into makeshift communal quarantine zones.

If you have a runny nose today for whatever reasons, you are now assured to be infected tomorrow with the real deal in "quarantine".

Don't expect any shaky videos of people being dragged off screaming and this time though, for the official order warned that anyone who “fabricate and spread false information” about this round-up would be harshly punished.

At least now we know why the WHO's international team of medical experts is not allowed into Wuhan.

Senior Wuhan doctor dies from coronavirus as authorities start to 'round up' patients

One of Wuhan’s most senior doctors has died after contracting the coronavirus as authorities began a sweeping campaign inside the city to seek out patients infected with the virus.

Liu Zhiming had taken part in the battle against the virus from the start and had made important contributions in fighting and controlling Covid-19, the Wuhan municipal health commission said. During that process, “unfortunately he became infected and passed away at 10.54 Tuesday morning at the age of 51 after all-out efforts to save him failed”, the commission said.

Confirmation also emerged of the death last Thursday of Xu Depu, the former director of the Ezhou city Chinese medicine hospital in Hubei province. A nurse at the hospital confirmed his death on Tuesday, according to reports in state media.

Chinese state media reported new house-to-house checks in Wuhan, a city of 11 million people at the centre of the outbreak, that aimed to seek out and “round up” all infected patients. State media said anyone suspected of having the virus would face mandatory testing and anyone who had close contact with virus patients would be put under quarantine.

According to Chutian Daily, a Wuhan newspaper, 10 quarantine centres similar to the makeshift Fangcang hospital will be set up across eight districts in the city, providing an additional 11,400 beds for people showing mild symptoms of infection. Buildings in factories, industrial estates and transport centres were being converted into makeshift centres for housing patients.

The reports said all communities and villages would be placed under around-the-clock “closed-off” management, in effect putting them under lockdowns. From Tuesday, anyone who buys cough medicine or treatments to bring down a fever in chemists or online will need to use their ID card, the state-funded site the Paper reported.

The citywide inspection campaign indicates an escalation of the situation in Wuhan, where former officials have been blamed for a cover-up that led to the rapid spread of the virus. Health officials have reported nearly 50,000 confirmed cases in Hubei alone.

The draconian measures come after two of the city’s top leaders were sacked last week. Wuhan’s new Communist party chief, Wang Zhonglin, issued the new decree, according to the Global Times, an English-language state newspaper.

Officials would carry out the inspection with the help of big data and artificial intelligence, it said, without providing further details.

An order on Monday from the Wuhan city legislature on “winning the coronavirus war” warned that people who refused mandatory measures such as reporting cases of fever and cough to their local residential committees or going into quarantine if they were sick would be subject to “coercive measures”.

The order also said those who delayed reporting cases or “fabricate and spread false information on the epidemic” would be punished.

Japan will soon let loose a herd of suspected super-spreaders in Yokohama. Bless their hearts.

“Near the end of its two-week quarantine, 88 more people aboard the Diamond Princess cruise ship in Yokohama have tested positive for COVID-19, the health ministry said Tuesday, with 65 of them experiencing no symptoms such as fever or coughs.

Meanwhile, all passengers aboard the cruise ship who have tested negative for the virus will be allowed to start disembarking Wednesday, health minister Katsunobu Kato said Tuesday, with the ministry having finished taking test samples from all passengers.

Those who test negative will be allowed to leave between Wednesday and Friday, while those who test positive will be hospitalized. The same measures will apply to crew members.”

Sounds like a great plan.

  • The amount of ID'd cases on The Diamond Princess is 542,
  • The amount of ID'd cases in the entire rest of the world is 470.
Really makes you think, innit? How can one ostensibly quarantined ship have more cases than the entire rest of the world (excl China)?

How frickin big is the hidden number of infecteds roaming around?

I suggest this prior but do not know why China does not utilize some of the Ghost Cities they have fully built out, with all services already there.

They could use military aircraft to airlift anyone in who is either infected or suspected or vulnerable due to contact. Keep them in separate cities or areas and very spread out. And bring in doctors and food as required. Just keep pulling out any of those 3 categories and get them out of the general population until you get this thing contained.

From The Weather Channel...

"At a Glance
  • Experts say coronavirus is mostly spread through close contact with an infected person.
  • Most of what's known about COVID-19 is based on studies of previous coronaviruses.
  • New research shows the virus could linger on surfaces for up to nine days. "

WESTCHESTER COUNTY (WABC) -- 26 people are being quarantined in their homes in Westchester County over coronavirus concerns, officials say.

The travelers just returned to Westchester from China.

No one is showing any symptoms of the coronavirus, according to officials, and Eyewitness News has been told that the quarantine is voluntary and out of an abundance of caution.
Inb4 they take the express bus to Flushing to buy some ma la tang in New World mall and then NYC collapses

Because it’s China they would rather just throw them in the crematorium

Ya but even if you believe 'the individual' is not important in China (in a communist system), this is impacting 'the whole' as it disrupts business and causes real GDP harm. A communist gov't does care about that even if you believe they don't care about 'the individual'.

Billions are at stake! The aid must flow!

Cambodia has blistering hot weather not suitable for respiratory virus, so this complacent fool is gambling it for the entire Southeast Asia.

PS: What's the situation is like in PH right now? All the plans are in place for quarantine and testing for the large group of Filipino crew members coming back from the SS Coronavirus?

Cambodia PM Hun Sen defends Westerdam ship docking despite coronavirus diagnosis
Feb 18, 2020

SIHANOUKVILLE, Cambodia (AFP) - Cambodia's strongman premier defended on Tuesday (Feb 18) his decision to allow a US cruise ship to dock despite at least one passenger later being diagnosed with the deadly coronavirus, while authorities scrambled to track down hundreds that came in contact with her.

The Westerdam was turned away by several Asian ports before Cambodia agreed last week to allow its more than 2,000 passengers and crew to disembark.

But jubilation dimmed over the weekend when an 83-year-old American woman was stopped at a Malaysian airport and diagnosed with the virus that originated from China and has now killed over 1,800 people.

By the time she was diagnosed, scores of fellow passengers had moved through different countries - including Singapore and Thailand.

Four are currently being monitored in Bangkok.

Cambodia's Prime Minister Hun Sen remained defiant on Tuesday.

"Some people say it brings the virus to Cambodia, but Cambodia has not had the disease (among its people)," he said in a speech.

Cruise operator Holland America said tests for 406 passengers now at a Phnom Penh hotel were negative, and they could continue their journeys home.

For those who've made it to the United States, local health departments - working with the US Centers for Disease Control - are following up with passengers who might have had contact with the infected American, it added.

Three hundred passengers in Phnom Penh would fly to Dubai, Hun Sen said, while 100 others would take a chartered flight to Japan.

Authorities are also arranging another flight for passengers remaining in Sihanoukville - the southern coast where the Westerdam is docked - though Hun Sen did not say where that was headed.

The bombastic premier had greeted disembarking passengers on Friday with embraces and flowers.

As countries in the region scrambled Monday to restrict access to Westerdam's passengers, those in Phnom Penh were taken on a tour of the capital under the glare of state-aligned media.

Almost a thousand people remain onboard the Westerdam, barred from leaving until they have been tested.

Passenger Lorraine Oliveira told AFP she is apprehensive about the results.

"I'm worried what the outcome will be if anyone on board tests positive - what will happen to us then?" she said.

Cambodia only has one confirmed case of the virus - a Chinese tourist who has since recovered.

The country, a staunch ally of Beijing, received billions of dollars in soft loans and investment from China, and Hun Sen travelled there earlier this month in a show of solidarity.
