Same reason we have historically gone easy on oil producers. They control a lot of resources and production, which gives them a lot of bargaining power, whether we like it or not. Morality is often a luxury in the face of stark economics.

Cuba has no hand to play, and they're trapped in our orbit.

That link clearly states that the Cuban government prevented people from leaving Cuba without express permission from the government. Even talking about unauthorized travel was punishable by 6 months in prison. You’re such a liar. No one is saying the government should pay for their flights out, that wasn’t the issue. The issue was the government not allowing people to board the plane to leave. Do you not think Livan Hernandez had the money to leave? Why didn’t the Cuban government let him go? What about Ardolis Chapman? You’re a liar and a hack.
