Tonfas were great in the first game. You could bully pretty much any enemy and even some bosses. Really fun moveset. And I agree about the hatchets. There's just something missing that makes them kind of underwhelming.
 
Wheel monk cat bitch was the lamest boss I've ever seen. Don't even think I healed lol
 
Saltzo finally made a breakthrough with speed running. The ninjutsu feathers do tons of elemental damage if the enemy is out of ki. Just gotta find what they're weak to.

I just leveled these up last night to burn up skill points while I was grinding for exp. been burning through all of my rechargeable magic/ninjitsu in the process for skill ups as well. Will definitely try that in my next boss fight.

Tbh she was annoying for me. I sucked against wheelmonks since first game though. Im not very patient though. Once I slowed down the adds were more dangerous though.
 
Just made it to the 3rd region and getting wrecked by the owl boss. Read a little bit about him and I missed taking out the red orbs during the level to knock out some of his stamina.

Took a break to clean up some of the sub missions and dojo quests. I'm one piece of gear away from having a full set of merchant gear, so j think I'll take some time farming the Hollow Fortress boss since I read he drops the text.
 
This game is so addictive. I can't believe it. Some of the missions are pretty freaking long though.

I've started running past shit if I die to it more tha twice. Some of the levels are marathons so I've been doing 1 level a day.
 
So unless you ace him without damage, they give the ninja veteran dojo dude a quick change Scroll when you deplete his HP lmao and of course he killed my ass twice because of it

That's a good idea. They really are marathons. At least the levels are way more interesting than the first game.
 
Just started it. First new quarantine game. Fun so far!
 
On region 6 now. Shibata katsuie is one of the hardest bosses I've played in any game. The worst part is most of the level is dark realm and once you clear them the enemies go away so you can't even farm to prepare for him. Took me probably 50 tries to kill him and used all my cups and just about ran out of items to turn into rice to pay for them and elixers
 
Fastest way to level ninjutsu and onmyo? Need to unlock the adept dojo missions.

I got mine up to adept on the Hollow Fortress level while grinding exp. At the second shrine you are close to 3 pick axe enemies and a Cyclops.

Just unload stock of everything you have. The Cyclops is a nice damage sponge so I hit it with a sloth talisman and an element in my weapon. You only get onmyo on weapon talismans if you attack, so having the Cyclops absorb a bunch of damage helps boost the skill. Plus each run grabbed about 6k exp in like 2 min. Not a crazy amount but it added up quick and went up like 10 levels and tons of skills all around.
 
Viper and the Butterfly in the second region is one of the most frustrating missions I've done in a long time. Even used a summons for the last room. Holy fuck that revenant had me triggered.
