Packer twitter already going wild with the Matthews/ILB fantasies, as expected. :D
He's too slow for ILB.

But as a rotational guy that missed time cause of a broken jaw and soft tissue injury last year with the Rams... he got 8.5 sacks.

Use him the way they used Peppers? I wouldn't be opposed if it was a vet minimum deal.

Sounds like the Pats are trying to sign Vitale
I like him but I don't really care to be honest, Sternberger played the full back role some snaps when Vitale was injured and quite honestly I don't think they need a FB on the roster.

Any predictions/wishes/suggestions for the second and third FA wave? Doubt that expensive signings like Anderson or Ebron will happen, but feel like we need an experienced run stopping DT and a cost friendly TE or WR before the draft. Even now LOTS of interesting options are still out there.

IF THEY COULD SWING IT... I would like Sanders as a WR. Him and Adams with Lazard/Kumerow as the third guy would be very intriguing to see. Rodgers would finally have two bonafide damn good receiving options on every passing play which he hasn't had since Jordy was around prior to the injuries.

Sanders is gone, apparently the Saints got him. Ebron also gone.

Missing out on Sanders really pisses me off. I've been so sick of this slow, no separation receiving corps since 2014.

Yeah it's pretty annoying, still some options for trades and FAs out there. Less and less tho...

There's still the Draft
No one really knows what the plan is for the draft, so far they have only replaced (downgraded) Bulaga and Martinez, that's it. Bunch of other weak spots to adress, too.

Yeah so far we've downgraded RT, downgraded TE most likely, and downgraded ILB by all available metrics.

And I think we can be sure that they won't go R1 ILB, R2 WR in the draft because it literally never works out that way according to need.

Definitely need to hope that Kirksey stays healthy and that Wagner can go back to being solid. As for TE, with LaFleurs scheme there is no way it stays at Sternberger, Lewis, Tonyan. I liked your idea of signing Eifert if the price is right, I'm not sure if the available receivers (trade or FA) provide good value, so it would be wise to get into a position that allows you to draft a WR early.

Just hypothetically as no one knows what Gute and his scouts have in mind, signing Eifert and Snacks to good value deals would be fine. Allows Gute to trade up in round one for either ILB (Murray, Queen) or WR (Mims, Jefferson etc...) and fill depth with all the other picks.

But they interviewed a bunch of day two DTs around the combine and I kinda doubt that Gute brings in a veteran run stopping DT like Snacks, most others are gone anyway.

Maybe they just sit at #30 and get Zach Baun, who apparently can rush from the edge and play ILB.

Robby Anderson to Panthers. That's the last of free agent WR's.

Meh. If he was cheap, then I'm okay with it. He's a great athlete.

Cheap (probably), looking to bounce back...guess those kind of signings are the only ones Gute is willing to do this offseason. Have no problem with that, but he needs to nail it in the draft.

Gute has to nail a stud WR in the draft, because Funchess doesn't move the needle for me.

Definitely.

Watched Funchess a little bit and I think he can definitely help if he's healthy, especially as #3/#4 or something like that. He is kind of weird in that he makes some crazy contested catches but then also drops easy balls. He's still young and his injury last season probably won't do long term damage.

Reading a lot about the receiver class and it is really, really deep. Wouldn't be surprised if Gute sees the best value in R3/R4, but who knows who they like lol. If round one falls terribly I'm not opposed to trading back to early R2 to maybe gain an extra 4th? I would absolutely love if Higgins falls to 30. Fully expect some OT tho. :D

Funchess is on a 1 year 2.5 up to 6 with incentives.

They also got Ervin back

Enough space to make a couple of cheap signings when they cut Lane.

Completely nerded out on draft stuff at work today then realised it's still like a month to go

My problem is this team has like two or three #3 receivers. I like Lazard, and you all know how I feel about EQ's potential. But at this point both of those guys are #3's at best.

Funchess does make some big time plays on the 50/50 balls, but Rodgers doesn't throw those unless it's a free play. And those are few and far between these days, lol.

And Higgins is my draft crush this year too. I think he falls and I hope Gute pulls the trigger.
