I’m all for female fighters getting opportunities but why on gods green earth is eye vs calvillo main eventing a card?

Because, for whatever reason, the UFC (Dana) thinks Calvillo has the makings of a star. I personally find her intensely unlikable, but what do I know? I’m not a huge fan of Eye, but I’ll be rooting for her.

I have a love/hate relationship with Cifers (seems determined and tough, but she KOed my girl). I'd like to see her pick up the win here, but don't see how it's possible. Dern will smother her.

It's likely has do with Cavillo's Mexican heritage and the fact that she can speak Spanish. UFC is trying to expand in the Spanish speaking market. They are building in PI in Mexico either this year of the next.

because of covid i guess?
sure there's a lot of US fighters to pick from, but my impression is they have a strategy of having a certain amount of cards headlined by females per year.

i don't think they'll cut Tecia, at least not for now. she's fought back to back top 5 fighters lately.
she tweeted she signed a new 5-fight contract right before/after the Rodriguez-fight if i'm not mistaken.
she's become an established gatekeeper

idk but Lucie seems pretty hungry and she said that her goal in this pyramid is to hurt every opponent in her way ... almost kill them so lets hope for some crazy action
