Law South Carolina passes bill that adds Firing Squad as method of execution

It's all fun and games till the firing squad members start getting ptsd and committing suicide... Which is why they stopped using it in the first place ..

It seems like a perfect opportunity to put this technology to good use.

As an opponent of the death penalty, yes,
the chair and shootings are messy, but at least no one is lying to themselves about the nature of capital punishment like in the case of injections, where people still think of a "medical" or "clean" death.

The anti government types are the same people willing to give the government powers to kill.

Why wouldn't the lethal injection drugs be available? How often are they killing inmates?

The required drugs come from the EU, which has blocked exports because it does not support capital punishment.

Also, I looked it up - SC last executed someone 10 years ago. This seems like political theater?

How does it work? How many shots are fired and where do they aim?

It would make sense, imo, to just blindfold the perp, wrap his head in plastic and put a slug in the back of his head. Nice and clean.
Back in world war 2 they would use 4-5 shooters however only one shooter had actual bullets. The rest had blanks so they didn’t know which shooter actually killed the prisoner. All are told to aim for the heart.

Not sure which I'd choose given their ability to fuck it up.

I was told blenks have less recoils so they will still know if thdy shot a round or not.

Is that true?

You could probably get a robotic sentry to do the same job with more accuracy.

Make them fight a bear or gorilla,if they vanquish the beast they have earned their freedom. This should be optional, shot down by a machinegun sentry should be the default setting.

I thought it was the other way around in that only one shooter had a blank so no one knew for sure if they had the kill or not, but the death was guaranteed due to the number of live rounds.

Lethal injection is apparently very painful and takes a few attempts with the needle sometimes. Firing squad is definitely the way to go.

I only know because a documentary I watched however I’m sure they done it both ways.

I wouldn’t know. I have never shot a gun in my life. Kinda funny though because I do have my possession license and hunters course.

Yeah I am curious my only experience in guns is when I visited an Army base but I have not fired blanks side by side with live rounds to identify

Not sure if this is the way they still do it, but one person in the squad will have a bullet. The rest have blanks. So you don’t know if you made the kill shot. You all aim at the head and fire at the same time.
