What’s the toughest animal you could beat in unarmed combat?

Interesting that elepant is lower on the list than grizzly and lion. Yeah, grizzly and lion will mess anyone up, but have these folks seen a pissed off elephant?
100%. A pissed off elephant will kill ANYONE. you cannot out-run an elephant (they are FAST) and they will stomp you or pick you up with tusks or trunk and slam you. Would be a NASTY death. You'd know it. No human has any chance against an adult angry elephant.

I think I could beat a goat or ram type of animal, as long as they aren't too big. They can only throw one strike at a time and need space to load up their attacks

Thanks for sharing your experiences. Yeah Chimps are very strong for their size and very ferocious when angry I would think.
here's a 1m15s video of a guy taunting a King Cobra. This guy is playing with fire big time BUT he knows what he is doing and this video demonstrates my point : get no closer than the height of the cobras head is above the ground. It cannot strike and reach you if you are a bit further away.
Every time it strikes....it has to stand up again and "reset".

Having said that...he gets himself backed into a wall.....and then he is in BIG danger :

I would think no land animal of any kind has a chance against a angry adult bull elephant. Not even a pride of lions. They would just run away.

We suck at combat compared to the animal kingdom, at least without weapons.
We put all of our stock in our big brain, socialization skills, and dexterity. We are born to at least be able to use pointy sticks.
Otherwise we are the only animal uniquely restricted to using blunt force damage.

That said, I think I could defeat a wolf, but with life altering injuries sustained.

I saw a pitbull kill a cow once, so I'm safe to say a cow... The cow was useless! I'd jump on its back and pummel away.

I've asked a similar question before: "What animal does a human have a 50/50 shot of beating?" Many people said a lone wolf is probably the strongest animal an unarmed human can take on.

With that said, there was a guy who killed a mountain lion unarmed a few years ago, if y'all recall... sometimes miracles happen!

Maybe if I had a good nights sleep , a Honey Badger..

Here's another little factoid : HYENAS vs LIONS.
They BOTH know that there is a "rule" : It needs FIVE adult Hyenas to beat an adult lion.

If a lion is feeding on some killed game....and Hyenas approach....it will continue feeding (And snarl a bit and threaten the hyenas ...sure) but KEEP eating. It is only when FIVE Hyenas accumulate that the lion will say "FUCK THIS" and give up and leave the dead animal to the hyenas.

Faced with a large cat like mountain lion or something.... I think best chance is literally to try to get on it's back, and choke it out. That's prob your best bet. Get away from the jaws and the claws and you're in better shape. trying to do that....would be...hard and probably take injuries to get there but geting on it's back and clinging on til it's exhausted prob your best bet. I dunno if it's got 2 carotid arteries like humans ....but I sure would be trying to RNC the fucker (if it's a death match).

That’s nuts

I gotta laugh at the large portion of people who think they can beat up a full grown chimpanzee lmao.

I wouldn't want to fight one because I would probably be left with severe injuries but I think I could fight one off and cause it to quit. They're strong but their strength is highly over- exaggerated. They have a lot of fast twitch muscle so would probably gas out if you can survive the initial onslaught. All the cases you see of them mauling people are just some old lady or them ganging up on someone

No 5 humans in history unarmed vs any healthy adult elephant would even be remotely close. Even 10 I don't think is an exaggeration.

I agree with you because I literally have no idea how I’d even hurt an elephant. Like...what can I do?
A lion...I know what I can do I just don’t think I’d ever have a shot 1 on 1

That's what I was thinking while I typed that post actually. What could anyone do with a fist, foot knees or elbows that would even make an Elephant go "owch that hurt". I mean if you bit it's testicles maybe i dunno but then you would just piss it off and your death would be that much more brutal.

A king cobra would be very easy to beat in unarmed combat, walk briskly away. Lol or you could get bit in the face
But that list is stupid as shit, people think they could beat a chimp...
Some (6-7%) think they could beat a grizzly bear...
