Alvarez actually fought elite guys his entire UFC career. Islam only fights bums. Come back to me once he actually fights a top 10 guy

In your first post there is a Conor smiley, and you are making fun with a fighter who actually has better Lightweight resume than Conor's Lightweight resume... So, of course I would bring Conor.

You should better talk about why Conor is overrated and why Islam is underrated.

Not even mention about Islam's other Lightweight wins in UFC, while Conor has 0 wins other than that single win. Yet people think Conor is the best lightweight. The point is, thinking Islam is the best lightweight is far more logical than thinking Conor is the best lightweight.

Conor had his chance against Poirier and he got KOed, Islam never got that chance. Arman (Poirier's sparring partner) even said Islam would beat Poirier.

Because he technically fought Cerrone, and Diaz at 170, even though Conor is smaller and would've benefited from having it at 155

Still not a great resume, but Conor essentially has 3 wins at 155
 
Wins over Dober and Arman are more impressive than beating “ranked” guys like felder, Hooker, rda, and Tony.
 
Maybe Islam should take on TS so he can fight a real man.

I don't think many top 10 fighters are "forced" to fight anyone. They give you a couple three options, why choose the most dangerous one?

Why does no one call either of them out to stop the hype train? You make it sound like it should be a walk in the park.

I'm not a huge Makhachev(?) fan, but I do like Chimaev as a rising prospect... Either way, I don't have any skin in the game, I just don't think anyone wants to fight either guy.

Paul Felder is on record saying he doesn't want to fight Islam.

Oliveira, Chandler, Dustin, Conor, Beneil, and Tony are/were busy fighting other people.

That leaves RDA, Justin, and Hooker. Hooker probably needs some time off before he fights again, because he got knocked out and also has to deal with New Zealand's draconian covid quarantine rules.

RDA is probably angling for a Justin fight. And Justin is doing who knows what, possibly angling for a title shot.

We know Islam wants to fight RDA and he's not fighting him.
 
No, the strategy is to just hype him into a huge fight and hope he wins it, then immediate title shot.

Or skip step #1 and go straight to immediate title shot somehow.
