UFC 263: ISRAEL ADESANYA vs MARVIN VETTORI - Official discussion

You really think Dober is gonna piece Riddell up on the feet? I consider the latter to be more refined, particularly his jab and with potentially better cardio. Don't think grappling comes into play. Seems like a good spot for Riddell as a dog.

But barely a dog. I agree he's maybe a little more polished standing but Dober has better fight ending power.

I kinda think odds are about right, seems like a pass to me.

Riddells easily the more technical striker and has big power of his own but looks like he's held back a lot in the UFC given everyone he's faced gas spammed TDs at him. This time he's got the grappling upside if he wants to use it and it'll also let him sit down on shots like has before in MMA/kickboxing.

Ramadan was between April 11 to May 11 this year. So, Belal would have been training without any food or water from dawn to dusk for 30 days. He has done it before, without there seeming to be any detrimental effects. It can't help his training regimen but probably ensures an easy weight cut.

I think it's a bad match-up stylistically for Belal as well. Unless Maia's chin is completely shot, just doing some tape study now.

There are a number of big dogs in this event who are very live.

In the undercard? Didn't tape yet but for the main card lines seems were they should be,plus some value on Fig,commentator team made the first match seem closer then it was

seeing marvin get wobbled by holland in that 4th round doesn't put much faith.

Holland may be flakey and was overrated but he's obviously still dangerous standing.

Of course Izzy is capable of lighting up Marvin standing too. The thinking is that Marvin hopefully won't stay at distance long and will force Izzy into a grinding fight with a lot of clinching and grappling.

What? Moreno had a ton of great moments in that fight. Hurt Fig, outgrappled him for long stretches, etc. That fight was absolutely close as hell. I remember that night that I thought Fig won by the slimmest of margins, haven't rewatched since.

Izzy was way undersized fighting Jan; he felt his quickness would be the difference maker. Fighting in his own weight class izzys tdds will be much better. That and his fight IQ I wouldn't surprised if he clowns Marvin

I re-watched it last night. It was a great fight.

I scored it:

R1: Figueiredo 10-9
R2: Figueiredo 10-9
R3: Moreno 10-8 (point deduction)
R4: Moreno 10-9
R5: Figueiredo 10-9 (This was the round Moreno did nothing because of his hurt left forearm; Rogan kept saying "IT'S BROKEN!!!" because of the big bump on it)

Draw

The takeaway I got from that fight was how impressive fig's cardio is for 5 rounds considering he only throws heavy power shots mainly and he was in the hospital the night before due to being sick. This time he'll be 100% and I think he'll win cleanly.

Yea the fight was morenos for the taking. I had it a draw as well.

Moreno has taken a lot of damage, specifically in that fight with fig. How long until it cracks?

Fig isn’t underestimating him now. He knows what to expect. Think Moreno had his chance and blew it in rd 5.

Fair point. His cardio did hold up despite his frenetic pace throwing bombs.

Maybe it's a conspiracy theory, but Figgy claims a stomach bug before the fight and then he comes out looking perfectly not a day later, looking juiced to the fucking eyeballs, hes in the ring already sweating, he had a hard warm up and he goes 5 hard rounds with a cardio monster that rocked him bad in the 4th, he looks great in round 5 for a guy who just had a stomach bug, he's still winded up like a spring and explosive while fighting on the back foot. I think he went to the hospital to rehyrdrate, he claimed a fake stomach bug and got an IV.

Maybe that is not really relevant to this fight but I don't really know how anybody can see any value on Figgy at the current price. Moreno is a very well rounded dude. He has a granite chin. Maybe he can use his wrestling upside in this fight when it's not on one months notice. I can't imagine taking Fig at these odds, very clear dog or pass spot.

Vettori, Maia, Craig. Vettori is a live bet though. Start betting him after R1 if it looks right.

Maybe Collier, but not taped him yet. Even Davis, I can see her using the veteran savvy she used in her last fight to exploit any lack of fight IQ in Kianzad, though on paper it's an easy matchup for her.

I initally thought there would be value on Dawodu, but after taping I think that Evloev has too many tools for him, as well as great cardio, good chin and toughness, and a high fight IQ.

I am not planning to bet Figgy v Moreno. Too many variables from previous fight could make the next one less predictable. Eg groin kick, broken orbital, possible arm fracture, point deduction, Figgy had to make weight twice in a short period of time. Not sure if there is value on the Figgy line, but I don't diagree with your assesment, but not that confident in it.

Fig seems to have excuses ready for non-wins. Sick vs Jussier, in hospital vs Moreno.
I do favor him to win this fight. As said Moreno failed to capitalize the momentum in the fifth round and thats a red flag.

I love love love Moreno at + odds against flyweight out there. He is capable of beating anyone. He has cardio, hands and ground game. Who knows what the nut shot took out of him and if he wasn't injured in that fifth round we might have a new champ. Fig is a monster himself but Always has a tough weight cut, was rocked a few times in their last fight. +200 is the play.

i've got way too much units on parlays including floyd, cyborg and leon. Got felipe on a parlay too, dude is a very decent thai striker and collier is an undersized bum tbh.

There's probably some value on Marvin cause he's a dawg but it's a pass for me. izzy is back to his real weightclass and will look to make a statement here.

i think moreno is gonna look for tds more often in this one. wouldn't touch fig at that price. i do expect them to hit the cards again, either way.

riddell vs dober is gonna be a banger. frevola should win imo.

Value is on collier imo. Line is way too wide for heavyweights

corales has no power and gets punched in the face a lot. He’s a pretty average heavyweight and doesn’t deserves the price tag. I dont see the skill gap between him and collier that warrants that price

You watch Collier's fight against Vilante and tell me he won't do the same against Felipe. Felipe is willing to brawl, but in terms of striking, Collier is way ahead of Felipe.
