Law Pelosi desk "invader" asks judge for freedom to sell cars

What is the penalty typically for trespassing?

Trespassing on the U.S. Capitol
Federal law provides misdemeanor and felony penalties for trespassing acts occurring in Capitol buildings and on Capitol grounds. These acts range from unlawful entry to discharging weapons.

A person who commits the following acts faces up to six months' imprisonment and a $5,000 fine (NOTE BEFORE YOU START CRONING OVER THIS BEING A SLAP ON THE WRIST CONTINUE READING THE CLASS E FELLONY TRESSPASS PENALTIES AND BELOW!):

  • enters or remains on the floor or in the gallery of the U.S. Senate or House chambers without authorization
  • obstructs or impedes passage through or within the Capitol building or grounds
  • damages or destroys property in Capitol buildings or on Capitol grounds, or
  • assaults an individual in a Capitol building or on Capitol grounds.
The penalties increase to a class E felony—punishable by up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine—for the following violations involving weapons, force, or violence:

  • carrying, having readily accessible, discharging, or transporting any firearm, dangerous weapon, or explosive on in Capitol buildings or on Capitol grounds, or
  • with force or violence, entering or remaining on the floor of either chamber.
The potential imprisonment doubles if the violation occurs in any area cordoned off or restricted due to the presence of the President, Vice President, President-elect, or Vice President-elect.
(18 U.S.C. § 1752; 40 U.S.C. §§ 5104, 5109 (2020).)

Obstruction of Duties Performed by the Capitol Police
Capitol Police are charged with policing and protecting the U.S. Capitol buildings and grounds and members of Congress. Any person who knowingly and willfully obstructs, resists, or interferes with a member of the Capitol Police engaged in their duties commits a misdemeanor, punishable by up to one years' imprisonment and a $300 fine.
(2 U.S.C. §§ 1961, 1966 (2020).)

Obstruction of Congressional Proceedings
Criminal penalties also apply to disruption and obstruction of official Congressional business.

Misdemeanor penalties apply to acts that intentionally disrupt Congressional business on the House or Senate floor or in any committee or hearing held by either or both chambers. Such acts include unauthorized entry or trespass within the Capitol buildings, as well as engaging in loud, threatening, disruptive, or abusive language or conduct. A conviction can result in up to six months' imprisonment.

A person who corruptly or by threats or force obstructs or impedes a Congressional proceeding faces up to five years in prison. If the act involved domestic terrorism (acts that appear to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion), the penalty increases to an eight-year felony and up to a $250,000 fine.
(18 U.S.C. §§ 1505, 2331 (2020).)

So ...
These jokers:
*Violently entered the the capitol -punishment up to 5 years and up to a $250K fine.
*While the vice president was there -double the punishment to 10 years and a cool $500K fine
*Obstructed /resisted capitol police -one year in jail and $300 fine.
*By force obstructed a congressional proceeding -5 years
If the obstruction was to influence government policy by intimidation this increase to 8 years and $250K fine

Theoretically they can get 19 years and fines of $750300
Now these are the maximum penalties and I do not think they will get that. But it sure is harsher than the slap on the wrist some righties pretend might be the worst punishment possible.

Other doctors disagreed that it was just a stunning coincidence that he was hit with bear spray and immediately suffered cardiac arrest.

You'd think such a connection would be obvious, but I supposed when you have partisans saying that all the guy did was trespass, you can see the disconnect.

link me the other doctors that performed an autopsy on him

It wasnt an asinine conclusion.

the headline says the man is seeking freedom. Which has it seem like he’s not free, and still in prison.

the the OP source says

so it sounds like he is still not free.

He's out on bail on the terms and conditions he agreed to.

NOt sure what everyone is bitching about.
Try to over throw a government in some 3rd rate shit hole country, and you will be begging to be in solitaryconfinement.
Pull that shit in some countries, you will be hanging from a tree with all your all family, with your balls cut off.
Play stupid insurrection games win solitary confinement.
You Trump Lickspittles sure do whine about shit a lot, constantly playing the victim card. This dude is not a victim, he did it to himself. I was taught as a man you are accountable for your actions. Now, I have the usual band of Trump Lickspiltle posters trying to convince everyone is no longer has to be accountable. No wonder this country is falling apart, because no one wants to be accountable and always play the victim.

Seems like a sedition charge could stick if they want. If two or more persons conspire to delay the execution of any law of the United States, the law being the certification of the election. Up to twenty years on it's own.

Haha so because he had a stun gun in his pants he should be denied bond and detained for three months? People charged with murder are given bonds, so are rapists and child molesters. Had the DC Circuit not forced the judge to give him a bond, he’d still be in jail for a non violent offense. “But he took a picture so he waived his constitutional rights!”

gtfo fascist.

He's been charged with a violent offense and multiple federal felonies.

These people are so stuck in their own mind, they think everyone sympathizes with them.

I mean all he did was break into the capitol building with a mob chanting for the deaths of elected officials while he was armed, broke into the speaker's officer, and stole government mail.

What's the big deal?

Stating something happens isn’t a defense of it, you know that right?
But here’s the reality this person was apart of the insurrection at the capital, that’s a pretty rational thing to deny bail for. I mean if he was serious about overtaking the capitol then for sure he’d be serious about running from the law. And bail is denied all the time for shit like that.
Heres the reality if there was real insurrection your heroes would have been strung up. An insurrection where people show up totally unarmed to fight against the strongest nation in the world... wake up wokester

Not surprising. All summer long small minority business owners had to stand by and watched as their lives were ruined by rioters who were set free immediately, but anyone protesting Nancy Pelosi gets 20 years in prison.

My hero’s? Who are my hero’s? Was Batman there?
Would you support an insurrection?

Trump supporters are very deluded and stupid, they thought it was going to turn out differently than it did. And you're right, they were planning on stringing up his "heroes".

A lot of people seem so indoctrinated that they defend whatever shitty thing their side of the political spectrum does no matter what. We all know who they are in this thread too. They’re in every thread doing it. They can’t simply admit that this guy is a dumbass who did a dumb thing and is paying the price. Instead they’re going to bang on about tyranny and fascism and what abouts.

I’d love to see that defense in court. “Your honor, sure I robbed a store but this other dude did a rape on the same night so maybe just let me go and punish him?”

More like you stand around watch people commit rape all summer long with no consequences. So you decide to walk over and pinch Nancy Pelosi's ass, and then you get the death penalty.

If they were planning on it it would have happened.

If they were planning on it it would have happened.
No, because they're extremely stupid and incompetent. I don't think they have the capacity to plan far ahead.

Flight risk is mitigated by taking his passport. It was a non violent crime so there’s little risk of harm to the public.

he was eventually given a bond when the DC circuit made the judge give him bond.

People do a pretty damn good job hiding in the US sometimes for years or decades. That said, as long as he is treated the same as anybody else he should be allowed to do what he wants.
