Finally the Ryan Hall myth has ended.

He clearly has skills, but dude needs to learn to do more than an Imanari roll and a spinning side kick. MMA has evolved past a JJ wiz being able to dominate with no other styles incorporated. See K1 Maia.

Eh, Maia fought for the belt in two weight divisions. Let's not pretend he hasn't had more success then 99.9% of other fighters on the UFC roster, regardless of their specialties.

Not gonna pile on about Hall, but Rogan's commentary was pretty brutal. He was jizzing himself about Ryan Hall the entire fight "Oh this is it, he's in trouble" "Oh the unschooled can't appreciate". Lol, come on now Joe.

Maia developed an underrated striking game. Didn't have much but his straight left gave trouble to Usman, Colby, Munoz, Rory etc.

He also arguably became the best wrestler among the BJJ elites to transition. Didn't have variety but a great single leg and series chains from it to get the fight to the mat. He developed these skills mostly later at WW but he was rarely a flopping, cartwheeling fish out there even when he started

Yeah maybe after the 10th Imanari roll it should've been clear his usual strategy wasn't working ....

Firas should've had him drill takedowns or clinches 24/7, maybe weird unorthodox ones or something. He won't catch legit guys in their prime just by rolling around, but Rogan loves that because Hall's a BJJ hero. A fighting style that would only work in a bouncy castle lol.

Rogan was probably right about the casuals in the audience not having any comprehension of how good Hall's grappling skills are.

However, by the time that they'd started booing him, it was clear that Torpuria wasn't going to fall for his attacks, and Hall's flopping to the mat looked desperate.

Totally it's funny when you see guys who are obviously somewhat elite spam the same move . Kinda like Maia vs Belal, your a fucking black belt , fighting in a top org and you cant change things up a little when it's clear your 1 main move isn't working ? Fighting is wild man haha .
