Finally the Ryan Hall myth has ended.

A jiu jitsu fighter with absolutely no wrestling background vs a wrestler is a really rough matchup because the jiu jitsu guy needs to get the fight to the ground, without of course giving up a terrible starting position. Jiu jitsu is the theoretical counter to wrestling, but the way things have played out in actuality is that Jiu jitsu is not good vs wrestling because wrestlers can keep the fight on the feet. Notwithstanding the fact that imanari rolls are clever, they'll never actually replace the ability to wrestle.

I guess that was long overdue, you cant be a ground / leg lock specialist without a proper way to take them down when your single one way of doing it is not working...he tried it to a ridiculous number of unsuccess, i guess similar to the last Maia fight, once their main tool is not working both were LOST in there.

What myth exactly? Any sane person knows that any fighter is mortal.

He always makes me think of Droopy.

Its complicated.

I like that you get the odd weirdo who wants to do something as nutty as spamming Iminari rolls. On the flip side, its somewhat skirting the spirit of the rules and can result in some serious stinkers.

If he was active I think this would have happened several times by now. Pulling that bullshit with solid grapplers is going to get you knocked out in the course of putting on a stinker. He'll either update his concepts or lose and be cut.

Maia developed an underrated striking game. Didn't have much but his straight left gave trouble to Usman, Colby, Munoz, Rory etc.

He also arguably became the best wrestler among the BJJ elites to transition. Didn't have variety but a great single leg and series chains from it to get the fight to the mat. He developed these skills mostly later at WW but he was rarely a flopping, cartwheeling fish out there even when he started
Burns wrestling seems to be becoming pretty strong. Got wonder boy down pretty easy. As well woodley (I know) but woodley was a good wrestler. I'm a big fan of Maia too

Embarrassed? He lost a fight. Props to Topuria, but does this mean every fighter who gets KO’d got embarrassed?
Spamming the same move then getting ko as a result is not embarrassing after all the delusional shit he was talking? Please.

He made 15, yes 15 failed attempts at rolly polly before getting KTFO on the ground.

Definition of embarassed and taught a lesson.

Oh no, how will his 3 fans live after this. Smfh did this even need a thread

I like Hall, he's a good guy with a high IQ. I like listening to to the guy talk, he knows his shit. But, everyone has their limitations, and he was gifted genetically. He still won me some money though, I thank him for taking a dive.

Myth. He was deluded to think he deserved a top then opponent while not being ranked himself. Why should a top10 fighter fight am unranked guy? He beat old drunk bj Penn that's it.

according to sherdog forums, Every ranked ufc fighter duck him. Exactly win over Ryan Hall means nothing expect beating Tuf winner

You mean the move that didn’t work because he couldn’t grip with a broken hand? I’m gonna assume you didn’t know he broke his hand with the first punch.
