Crime What did the cops do wrong today. Vol. 2

Even the somber music and biased narrative doesn't make the officers look bad in this video.

Feel bad for the kid if he was going through legit mental issues but you can't fault the officers for anything here.

I saw him grab the gun on that video. He had a solid grip on it. I can't speak to if his treatment leading up to that was typical or anything, but he definitely made a very serious attempt at the officer's gun.

Murder? I dunno.

They definitely didn't take him or their jobs seriously enough back at the station.

If I am not mistaken he had his hands hancuffed behind his back, how can a mentally ill intoxicated man grab a hold of an officers gun so fast that the officer cant do anything else but shoot him?

Also, in how much trouble are you if you still have the time to say "you`re about to die" before shooting?

It wasn't murder and the officer shouldn't be charged but there should be some policy changes.

If he was suicidal, why was he held in the basement for 2 hours? Why wasn't he put in a suicide watch cell or put in one of those restraint chairs to stop him from possibly harming himself or others?
And how do you let a severely drunken man with his hands behind his back grab your gun?

On the video we do clearly see him grab the gun, so that part you can't really question. We can't see if he still had the gun at the time he was shot.

Seen this one before. That fuck is going to jail. I'd love to represent his family in court.
That leo is not fit to be a officer of the law.

Ever lost a family member because of a drunk driver ?

If this guy was that fucked up behind the wheel he did not care about the lives he was gambling with so he does not deserve our sympathy. He was clearly murdered.

It seems like they said he's got a gun, like he had a gun in his shorts and the forgot to frisk, the cop who killed him even said my friend before he head shoots and blasted his head you can tell that cop is a psychopath for sure already has several kills under his belt.

I'm not sure what to think about this one. It did look like he was trying to grab the officers gun. I would have thought an instinctual reaction would be to punch and tackle the guy and it likely would have stopped him from grabbing the officer's weapon but in a situation like this where one second can be the difference between life and death I think it's understandable why the officer chose to fire. My opinion is that the outcome is terrible but legally the officer had every right to shoot.

"You're about to die my friend" is a psychopath, and should have the FBI taking DNA samples to see if they connect to any cold cases.

"He's grabbed my gun" is also a pussy, and caused the situation to escelate past what it needed to with this statement. This kid had his hands cuffed behind his back, how the hell was he going to operate the gun?

Other than that, this seems like suicide-by-cop, after the kid got pulled for DUI. Regardless of his mental health, his decisions put bystanders in danger, so the arrest was justified. I didn't see anything problematic afterwards until the scuffle. I've seen much worse example of police brutality here.

The idiot saying "you're about to die" instead of "drop the gun" makes it seem like the Sgt is a bloodthirsty prick tho.

Well it was the third person that officer had shot and killed so maybe he is.

All you have to do is grab the gun and squeeze. It's not like he has to point the gun at an officers head in order for it to be a dangerous or life threatening situation. Could easily shoot through a leg and catch an artery.

It's weird that he said "you're about to die" but lets see what comes out of your mouth in a life threatening situation. Having to assess the situation in a split second doesn't give you much time to micromanage the words coming out of your mouth.
