Ok, now I think that it makes sense, you are talking about Aljo and I'm talking about the karate guy, Aljo could have been faking or not, nobody knows, the karate guy no, that is the whole point why the situations are completely different.

Idiots destroyed the sport in the Olympics with this.
Technically you are supposed to show control in the strikes to not get a KO and only semi contact but is very dumb.
Imagine the 'winner' displaying his medal getting ktfo.
You won't see karate again at Olympics.

yeah, this ruleset is meant for sparring but they should be going full kyokushin at the least if not basically k-1 rules.

As a traditional karate practitioner, wkf style point karate is laughed at by EVERYBODY who doesn't do it. It teaches tons of bad habits, and what you saw there, a fighter getting DQ'd for a clean technique, is unfortunately very common.

In this particular instance, even by WKF rules, this should NOT have been a DQ. The other guy clearly leans right into the kick. There's no amount of control that will save you then.
 
I would've clocked him right off the podium and snatched that Gold. How's that for Olympic spirit.

You're not supposed to hurt your opponent in karate olympic. which is fucking dumb and makes the sport pointless.
