Law Police unions across the country look to stop mandatory vaccination among officers

How does a cop being vaccinated benefit public health?

One Cop? By being a small part of a broader vaccination effort. All cops? By being a bigger part of a broader vaccination effort.

The bible is true because the bible says so answer.

If you can still catch and spread Covid then how does a vaccinated asymptomatic cop walking around benefit public health?

What if they already had CV-19?

Why does everyone on the Left keep forgetting about millions of people that have better immunity than those with vaccines?
I am hardly "on the left." Why does being in favor of getting a vaccine so that we can all get back to normal mean you are on the left? Having common sense does not automatically make you on the left, although it seems that way these days

People who can demonstrate resolved prior infection through medical records should be given a pass on any vaccine mandate. The downside to all of this is that people will lie to get out of any responsibility, so there’s a real need for definitive proof before accepting anybody’s claim that they’ve had a resolved case.

They do it in Germany, but here the Government does not even entertain the logic that you just shared.

Thats a completely mismatched argument. You asked why vaccinating cops is a public health benefit, not whether the vaccine works.

The vaccine reduces, dramatically, the rate of transmission among vaccinated people. It’s not 100%, but broadly, more vaccinated people leads to less spread, and reduced severity of cases when spread. Keep moving the goal posts if you’d like. Let me ask you this, do you think someone who gained immunity from having covid previously is less likely to catch and spread the virus?

So the vaccine doesn't really work in the way people understand what vaccines actually do, but are symptom suppressors in reality. That's my point.

We don't know if they're less likely to catch and spread it, but it does seem like natural immunity conveys protection for a longer duration. We've known about breakthrough cases from day 1, but they seem to be rare, whereas they're more common for the vaccinated people. What's your point? Not being a dick, but rather curious.

Previously it was reported that the USPS had an exemption from the vaccine mandate for federal employees. This report by a WaPo reporter has since been corrected.

White House clarifies USPS workers will be subject to vaccine mandate

The White House issued a clarification late Thursday after the Washington Post, citing an official, reported USPS workers were not required to get the shot and were only being “strongly encouraged” to do so.

Postal workers will have a choice between getting the vaccine and getting tested for COVID-19 once a week, a Biden administration official clarified, subjecting those workers to the rules being imposed on business of 100 employees or more, as opposed to the rules for federal employees.

“USPS is not included in the executive order requiring vaccination of Federal employees. USPS has a separate statutory scheme and is traditionally independent of federal personnel actions like this,” a Biden administration official said.

Thanks for the update.

One of the benefits of socialized medicine

One of the benefits of not having a total fucking moron as President and a bunch of Authoritarians in his administration. The economic process of the medical care has nothing to do with it.

The vaccine absolutely works the way people understand vaccines to work, we get flu shots every year with the same expectations.

What I’m saying is that we all understand that immunity, whether full or partial, temporary or permanent, is the path to moving on from the pandemic. We can also all see that the vaccines all provide substantial immunity to the virus, for an uncertain duration. The public health argument is that providing immunity with 10000x lower risk of death or serious illness is the nest path forward.

I certainly don't think that a union is a guaranteed 100% solution to defeating vaccine mandates or anything like that. My point is just that without a union you have nothing at all. Conservatives who cheerlead for union-busting Republicans should keep that in mind.

We will see how it goes. If they win and the mandates don't happen, I will definitely support the police union going forward.

Centralized, standardized, nationally acceptable health records are necessary for implementation of cured card to go with a vaccine card. Because the US health system is disorganized and siloed, implementation takes on added complication, and that frustration gets passed on to the people who’ve already been through the virus. The fact that these people aren’t receiving regular medical care due to lack of infrastructure compound the problem.

How many yearly booster shots before you admit this isn't what people understand vaccines are?

Other than that, I was curious as to your question about those with natural immunity.

10000x the lower risk of death or serious illness is an incredible stretch.

Australia. NOT FUCKING HAPPY.

edit. An before some shit cunt chimes in that I have a shit kicker job. I am an engineer, so it is causing drama for everyone.
I thought Australia had a low covid rate?

Hard to believe that so many believe in a "vaccine" that really isn't all that effective. Let alone want others to also get it. Kind of insane

Portland City Council already gave PPB a pass. No surprise. PPB can do whatever it wants.

It's incredibly effective at preventing death . These narratives make the rest of us that have assessed our risk level and decided no look bad because it's just not true.

Seems to be talking out of his ass. If we're being honest. " The vaccine dramativally reduces the rate of transmission among vaccinated " wtf does that even mean. So vaccinated people aren't getting covid , like a significant portion of the unvaccinated population isn't as well.
