in order
khabib (defended his belt 3 times, his best win was a drunk and shot conman, 2/3 of his career spent beating on cans in russia)
jones (steroid cheat, lost 3 times to gus, santos, and reyes and was saved by the judges in every instance, steroid cheat)
anderson (also steroid cheat)

Going with Khabib. Mostly because all of the other fighters on the list were more well-rounded. Any of those guys could beat you standing or submit you on the ground.

Depends on who's "you" cuz this "well-rounded" Aldo got sparked in 13 seconds against McGregor he got outclassed by Volk and got dominated by Holloway and Yan
things I could never Imagen happing to Khabib

Being well rounded does not make you invincible.
Other fighters too are well rounded, and also...
A specialist can survive.

I'll have to choose Anderson.

He competed in a very weak division at the time. Obviously he has elite wins and is elite himself but even Ed Soars said during Andersons prime that he is never able to pull off any crazy shit or matrix shit in the gym that he's never seen it in sparring. Basically implying luck and a weak division.

That is not true.

It is not implying luck at all.

Some people are just different fighters in the gym than they are in the cage. In the cage, Anderson is in the zone, the flow state.

What the hell are you talking about. All of those people you listed are top tier fighters. Gtfo.

Yes, they are.

Not that he's really overrated, but the most so in that group so I choose Anderson because while he had a very dominant run in the UFC, the only win he had against what I'd call a 'great' fighter is Dan Henderson. Rich is close to that too but just a shade below.

Cote, Leites, Marquardt, Leben, Bonnar, Maia, Okami, etc are all B level guys. MW was so weak during this period, probably the biggest threat to Anderson during this time was Mousasi and it was still a while before he came to the UFC.

Once middleweight developed, and Anderson got older, he looked terrible. Add in the PED failures and he's the most overrated of the group.

The latter half of Anderson's reign was very respectable, and also Bonnar was a LHW.

If I had to pinpoint one it, it would be Khabib solely because he retired early. I have no doubt he would have racked up enough wins to put himself near the top with the best. It's a shame he retired early, but I actually like it because I hate to see guys hang on far too long.

Still, these guys are all historically great fighters, so none of them really. We should appreciate these guys more.

Well I think Khabibs resume is a little top heavy and has a fair bit of padding, but he certainly wasnt overrated in terms of his actual fighting ability.

That is the problem with Khabib, based on how he was fighting when he ends you project what it would have been like and it looks good. However his clearly short on his resume to the others on the list yet some people still feel his the goat and that is why his over rated. Him being over rated doesn't stop him being great, one of the best, but just not there. His kinda like the nba player Roy, looked amazing but his career ended just when it was getting interesting. Khabib certainly had his biggest challenges ahead of him to catch up to guys like Jones.

I see your point...but He's not overrated as a fighter. You can tell he's one of the best fighters ever seen. Youd have to go on wikipedia to try and pretend he isnt. I think the whole GOAT talk is nonsense. How can someone who fights in LW be better or worse than someone who fights at LHW? Or how can you compare eras and all the differences in the sport and so on.

Khabib is the best LW of HIS era,as BJ was in his. Neither of them are overrated as fighters.
