With the current meta I'm surprised Wamai is still so low. Same with Ying after the flash changes.

Legendary caster Kixstar has passed away in an a car accident. Esports lost a legend. This fucking sucks.

There's a big push in the community to add this in game.

If anyone is looking for a excellent indie game that IMO plays the way R6 should have, check out Zero Hour (aka Rainbow 6 dollar). It’s been on sale for $6, usually $12. I’ve only been playing it a few days and it’s a riot so far.

Interro just did a long stream in remembrance of Kixstar. It was amazing.

Let's look at the steam numbers for the game.
Zero Hour Current 829 Peak all time 4,288
Siege has never had that low of numbers, March 2016 Average 6,125.5 Peak 11,234.
Siege Current 46,384 Peak today 55,613 Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
Remember that's just Steam numbers, there's people that play Siege through Ubi's launcher.

Those number bring up the question, does the gaming community actual want that type of game?
When compared to most other competitive FPS, Siege has held up very well. The Call of Duty's, Battlefields, etc are releasing new games every year meanwhile Siege is still chugging along 5 years later.

The game to watch out for is the FPS that Amazon is working on.
The studio’s founding members include industry veterans Luc Bouchard (head of production), Xavier Marquis (creative director), Alexandre Remy (head of product), and Romain Rimokh (content director), who most recently worked as the core team behind the tactical shooter Rainbow Six Siege, which now has more than 70 million players since its launch. The studio’s first project will be an online multiplayer title based on new IP.

Yes, a 6 year old AAA game has a bigger player base than an indie game that came out last year and is still in early access, no surprise there. All I’m saying is, for a game that’s usually on sale for less than $10, it’s a very fun game that in my opinion got right a lot of things that siege got wrong.

Siege wasa never advertised as a realistic tactical MilSim so comparing it to a one is dumb.

Lol what? You’re odd desire to ignore a comparable game is what’s dumb. There literally couldn’t be a closer comparison. Zero Hour basically copied siege, but made all the improvements that disappointed siege players had complained about, like the stupid operator ability bullshit. For like $6 to $12. Just try it out man, you’re still allowed to like Siege.

I bought siege when it first came out I was pumped but disappointed when I started playing I thought it was gonna be like Vegas but better it's been so long now I don't really remember what it was like

Zero Hour is a realistic tactical MilSim that ripped off some things from Siege. Things like the "stupid operator ability bullshit" and a destructible map are key elements to Siege, which Zero Hour doesn't have.

Lol ok I mean you can pretend to reclassify one game and not the other, but the game structure is almost identical, except for the unrealistic nonsense you mentioned as a “key elements”. How many siege players were actually happy about those key elements?

A destructible environment and the "stupid operator ability bullshit" is what makes Siege a different game than others out there.
Considering we're coming up on the 6 year anniversary of the game and it's still going strong, I'd say quite a few.

How is Siege these days? I haven't played since 2018. Went through a divorce and was working mid shift for 6 months. I'd stay up from 9pm-6am playing several days per week. Had a lot of fun but it looks like the game has changed a lot since then.
