Aljo straight lost that fight, and looked like shit doing it. He didn’t even edge him by much in control time when he went for all those takedowns! It was a clear 3-2 for Yan, now we have to listen to this blowhard for another 18 months before he takes another fight. Piss poor judging lead to the stagnation of this division.

He was punching and going for the sub though. He wasn't simply stalling in the position. It's not like he could have advanced that position any further.
He never commited to any sub, didn't even squeeze or crank the neck, he rode out the position

Yan landed more strikes overall and had a way higher accuracy percentage of significant strikes. He was in his face the entire time, pushing the pace while Aljo was running.

look at the panic wrestling. 2 out of 22 takedown attempts, Jesus Christ. Every time Yan threw a punch he shot lmao

"Panic wrestled"

took his back for like 7 minutes lol

Didn't Sterling gnp the shit out of Yan in the 2nd? Why isn't it a 10-8?

A missed punch does no damage. A failed armbar does.
No it depends. 90% of the time submissions don't do damage. Very rarely you will see a failed armbar that does damage. If it really does damage then it means the submission was locked in and the fighter escaped, that is very rare. Not all submissions are armbars. Most of the time these commons subs like those rear naked chokes are locked onto the chin and do nothing.

If he couldn't advance any further than that shows it wasn't dominant enough for a 10-8 or possibly should have even been stood up

Um, no, he couldn't advance any further because there was no stronger position to advance to. On the back with a body triangle is as good as mount in terms of position strength. Heck, it's probably better as it's way harder to escape.

Who even gives a shit about 10-8 rounds when round 1 is unequivocally scored for Aljo. 19-13 strikes landed means that he wins even if he is backpedaling the whole time

Isn't that just in certain cities, though? I don't know who all has adopted what rules, but I was under the impression that it wasn't a universal thing.

Ah, maybe it is. I remember the UFC making a big deal about it for a bit.

Lol @ figure 4 being "the most dominant position" in mma. Lmao. Holy shit. A position you can barely finish anyone In. Guess we got the new calf kicks.
Having someone's back is arguably the most dominant position you could have, Yan was going nowhere, it's hard to finish someone who isn't trying to really get out and is gonna get stood up every 5 min

Dana was mad af. Dana is aways biased. Can't take anything he says seriously about judges unless it's a preliminary fight. Dana was angry and aljo looked back and was like put that belt around my waist. Lmao Dana holds the ufc back with his childish antics.
