It's an interesting idea, transgenderism as an escape from time: from past, from family, from culture, from commitments, and of course from the specter of real identity (which is obviously socially negotiated, and not the product of masturbatory solipsism).

It seems to me that there is a possibility that transgenderism comes from the same psychological place as suicide; it serves some of the same functions. Is it any wonder that suicide and transgenderism are so intimately intertwined?
