So if we wait a month and a half for his 18th birthday in October it’s ok ?There's a difference between starting pro at 17 and fighting in the Contender Series at 17. The kid is 5-0 against opponents with a combined record of 3-3 and Mando Gutierrez is 25 with a 7-1 record against a combined 20-12. Ruas had two amateur fights against a record of 0-0 and Mando was 7-0 as an ammy against a combined 17-13.
On top of this you're telling the much more experienced dude he has to go out there and finish this kid in spectacular fashion to get a contract, so he's going to really try to hurt him.
I think it's incredibly irresponsible booking.

Going pro and fighting at the top level are two different things. This is Tyson at 15. No doubt he would fuck up alot of 25 year olds at that age.
Besides, plenty of fighters start pro at around 17/18. S'all good
Sign a decent contract with Bellator, ONE, heck even Combate and build up your skills while getting paid. I imagine he also still lives with his parents so no rent or other expensesJordan Mein too, so this kid can look forward to being completely shot before his 30th birthday.
Boggles my mind why you'd want to rush to the UFC before you're even legally allowed to drink. I thought guys like Dan Lauzon and Sage served as lessons that sometimes it's better to accrue more experience before heading into the biggest org.
Ummmm...... I hope you know that private companies can't literally do whatever they want unless you are some weirdo anarcho-capitalist. For example you can't put teenagers in mines and factoriesUFC is a private company they can do whatever they want. They dont force anyone to work there.
I mean why not throw a 17 year old in there with a 25 year old 7-1 fighter?
What could go wrong?
Because something happens in other parts of the world, doesn't mean it's right. Asia has a more lenient view of teenagers fighting, even in Japan you have 19 yr olds like Yamato Nishikawa with 20+ bouts. In Russia, Kadyrov has 10 yr olds fighting each other, and even Fedor said that teenagers shouldn't be fightingReminds me of something i discovered recently. Song Yadong is 24 yrs old. He started fighting in 2013…..had 3 fights that year…that means he fought as a pro when he was 15 yrs old…
Futhermore his birthday is december 2, so he actually fought 3 times as 14 yr old.
Is this some weird age of consent argument people are going with line of thinking? Age is still a thing even if the person looks mature for you."Child"

Oh no........17 is not a child. Its a legal minor (in most jurisdictions) but there is a difference.
1400 years ago everyone also died before the age of 35 and they used to drink mercury to cure diseasesFrom little history that I know,
1400 years ago, 15 years old is an eligible age to start to train for military/conscription.
Rory started in his teens yes, but it certainly wasn't on a UFC affiliated card.haven't a bunch of fighters started pro fighting super young? wasn't Rory like 15?
