Boxing Discussion VIII

I was thinking Sheilds speed isn't going to let Marshall have the time she needs to throw her punches. It's a helluva matchup and partly why I came here to discuss as I've certainly watched Shields much more than I have Marshall. I think Shields can outbox her for the 10 rounds, but that could possibly still not be enough in enemy territory. What are your thoughts?

main concern is that Shields punches don't have enough pop to concern Marshall and Marshall just walks her down whole fight. More i think/type about it mb a large wager isn't the way to go on this one. Should be good. Also Marshall does have multiple paths here while Shields may have to just be DEC.

Personally I'd stay away from betting the winner of this fight, but if forced to pick I'd go Marshall. She's going to come off as the aggressor even if she's not landing anything of significant impact, and I expect a hometown / home country decision if it appears halfway competitive.

I haven’t really seen Commey outside of the Loma and Lopez fights. Are odds about right on this one or is there any value on one side?

Commey has good value.

Ruiz 1-6 at +350 looks ok? Ortiz was wobbling all over from Charles Martin jabs wasnt he? Not getting any younger...

KO +100 also

It's good value. There's always been speculation Ortiz is older than he claims, but even if his purported age is true, he's still very old at 43 and Martin did put him down twice so his chin is almost certainly compromised and Martin is awful. The only problem is how hot/cold Ruiz can be. Having a war against the also-ancient Arreola isn't a good look either.

Yeah i forgot Ruiz last fight so bit of confirmation bias from me i admit. If hes training properly (big if), he should roll really. Who knows with this guy sometimes

£165 Ruiz KO -110
£10 Ruiz rds 1-6 +550 to win £55

*may up my ruiz bet to 250

You gonna hedge with Ruiz r7-9; or smaller wagers on Ruiz 7 and/or 8? This fight intrigues me. Ruiz looked like utter shit against Arreola, was also hurt. I read that this was the first southpaw Ruiz has faced. That being said, Ortiz is 103 yrs old and looked like ass against Martin. His legs may be gone; although his style is somewhat energy-efficient for a modern dinosaur. I think Teddy Atlas had it right. UNDER!

Yeah probably a good idea...
Added £10 Ruiz 7-9 +400
And raised my ko bet to 250.

Ortiz decision at +800 isn't a bad play either. If he was younger I would favour him. My only concern is Ruiz doesnt have huge one punch KO power but he is good at swarming if he gets his opponent hurt.

I'll be rooting for Ortiz though, I want him to get that AJ payday he missed.

Do you have What's App? I've tailed some of your Boxing wagers in the past; and I've been a fan all my life (of the sport). Would love to collaborate on fights. Agreed about Ortiz decision; his KO/TKO/DQ line's also dropped from +600 to +500. Ruiz is probably going to be so much faster than him though... Wouldn't surprise me if Ruiz stops him within 3. I'll be tailing the 1-6 pick as well. I agree about Ortiz deserving another payday. Seems like a genuinely good dude. ! Next weekend should be good with Shields/Marshall. Not sure how Shields +150 decision doesn't hit; unless they rob her on the cards. I could see a draw as well. What do you think about this Mares fight?

Taking not goes the distance @ -200, Ortiz' punch resistance is gone. Martin almost had him out of there, I think Ruiz finds the shots sooner or later to stop the fight.

Ruiz taking the 3rd round off when he almost had him out in the 2nd...

Ruiz doing absolutely nothing against a guy with no legs or chin. Commentary bias for him too
