@moonwolf what the fook was his problem? Why was he always whipping Ryu's ass like he stole something?

akuma's brother gouken trained ryu and ken.
akuma's pissed off that ryu's darkness is trapped within and that ryu hasn't allowed the darkness to consume him nor unleash it.
in akuma's pov if ryu goes full darkness he will reach his highest potential,
thus giving akuma the ultimate challenge/opponent he has been looking for; someone capable of killing him
so,
since ryu won't unleash the darkness on his own,
pissed off akuma is continually trying to beat it out of him.

Do newsstands even exist anymore?
yes. at the airport and next to the lottery scratchers vending machine inside ur local grocery store.
its only about 1/8 of what it used to be tho.
no more section for ironman and musclemag summer specials.

Ever see Singin' in the Rain or Hail Caesar?

Vin Diesel's 5'10" and Michael Caine is/was 6'2". They make it work however they like.

Hail Ceasar from a few years ago?
It started out great but once it went off into wacko land it lost me

I'd love to see a more serious movie about people like Eddie Mannix, there's gotta be so many amazing stories to tell there

That a Dragon Ball or a Pokemon?

I mean I buy my magazines in book stores news stands or like the newsstands at grocery stores. I think news stands still exist?

That's good casting but isn't Garrett like 6'6?

It worked because it made Jackie feel like such a large imposing presence in people's lives, bout the only thing that worked though, movie wasn't good
I know he was a bad person and I know why they focused so much on that side of his story but they told it in a way that made everything feel so cheap and uninteresting

The production was very uneven, there were times when Garrett looked like Jackie was actually on the screen himself and other scenes where you could literally see the rubber cheeks and chin hanging off Brads face

They still have the muscle magazines at my local grocery store, it's a full size set up in an aisle like it always was but it's only fitness, guns, sports, trucks and Good Housekeeping
No wrestling magazines anywhere to be seen

Nothing to add

I can see that, I guess. Singin' in the Rain was set against the era when silent film became "talkies" and a lot of the plot details were accurate to that time (diction coaches, careers ruined, dubbing difficulties.) In Hail Caesar, it was the blacklisted Communists, arranged dates/marriages, hidden pregnancies, "fixers," and gossip rags of the 50s.

Movie coming out soon, Babylon, looks of a similar vein.
