fedor had/has true humility. that is why i like him more than any other fighter. the mma world can be pretty degenerate and toxic and base. fedor proves you dont have to have a massive ego to compete effectively in combat sports. so many people on sherdog speak like they think you need to have a massive ego in order to succeed in life. its disheartening. fedor shows this is not nessessary.

fedor is an example in this way.

Fedor was extremely well rounded. He could punch too and he had heart. Biggest win was CC and we saw how well he did. Went bust as a gatekeeper. UFC should have setup a instant title shot arguing he won the grand prix.

I think Overeem wins but he was chinny. Granted, it is HW. Everyone can punch.

yeah. Fedor was also a undersized HW. Could have been a lhw which makes him more impressive. Once trt was rampid and much larger guys came, it was over.

I think TRT vitor gives him troubles too. I think th can crushing and age caught up to him. Noob eras that weren't exploited were by higher caliber competition. The Hendo ko for instance was a school boy error.

His well roundedness is one of my favorite things about him. His finishes are almost 50/50 split between tko/ko and subs.

Can crushing definitely caught up to him. He couldn't be so sloppy and get away with it. He had extremely favorable matchups throughout his career until he finally faced top 10s consistently. Travis Fulton tied or surpassed Fedro's HW win streak 3x in his career, because he too was facing subpar comp consistently. I mean, it's pretty cut and dry.

"For the record I like Fedor"

Passive aggressive basement dwelling peasant lol

Little boy, I have never been accused of being passive aggressive in my life. There's no basements where I live, sweetie.

Enjoy your new account before you're banned again. Kk?

An undefeated and emotionless Russian terminator who wrecked folks at HW while being undersized in promotions that didn't test for PEDs wouldn't be the prime example of not taking PEDs. Lol. Kettle bells or not, bradther.
Awww you must be fun at parties.

my favorite fighter, for sure.
first one i saw, like 20 years ago, fighting in Pride.

You love him because you're obviously not from Russia and generally don't know shit about him.

Too bad he will go down as a worthless fascist bag bunny.

He was instrumental in turning my country into a fascist cesspool with his insane warmongering. He must be proud now that Russian rockets all but destroyed his hometown in a criminal aggression he was so ardently cheering on.

I sure hope it will be felt much stronger when he stands trial as a disgusting war criminal he is.

Ban for posting fighter bashing shit like this.

In Pride, when Wand would fight, or Shogun, Mirko, Overeem, etc., it would always be exciting and all.
But when it was Fedor is was like the final boss. Dude had the aura.

1) He was one of the most complete HW at that time, and even in todays standards : Great striking, great judo/grappling, great subs. Beat Cro Cop and Nogueira at their game. He had great hips, quicks hands for his size, and he was also explosive. That's why Cormier was called black Fedor, cause he reminded us a lot of him. Pretty flattering comparison.

2) He was entertaining. His plan was to completely kill you with his bare hands. No time for tactical breaks during the fight. He was there to bring it all even against Cro cop he was at the center of the ring chasing him like a terminator. He gave us fantastic fights (Rogers, Arlovski, Fujita, Randleman, Cro Cop, Big Nog) to remember.

3) He was not big for a HW. He did not rely on any physical attribute. He was a fleshy 6 ft man who had to rely on his aggressiveness to compensate for the rest. I mean look at the size of his brother compared to his.

Bonus : The fact that he did not care for any trash talk games and antics make him even more likable.

WAR FEDOR

I thought this was going to be an eye-roller of a post, but you actually make some nice (remotely) fresh points.
I don´t think he gets enough credit for "He was not big for a HW. He did not rely on any physical attribute". A lot of more modern MMA fighters, particularly HWs, have see a lot of their success because they´re utterly HUGE/jacked (like Lesnar or Ngannou), or waaaay off the far end of the height/size spectrum for their weight class, like Izzy or Jones. All my favorite HWs (in terms of skill/fighting style) are/were around the 235 mark or so.

And yeah, his stoic/humble/polite demeanor made him a great role model for kids and future fighters. I really, really don´t think modern society (read: insecure sherbros) gives enough credit to how important/beneficial it is to society/youth to have actual positive role models.
Compare the behavior of the Cro Cops, Fedors, and DCs (to a slightly lesser extent) of the world to, let´s say, the equally or even more popular Conors, Masvidals, and Izzys (who I think is a decent person, just a drama queen trash talker).

The thing is the differences in personalities is what makes for great fights. If everyone were the same, itd get boring.

you dont know what nostalgy is? you watched him back in the day and enjoyed his circus fights, thing is instead of growing up and understanding all aspects of mma and how green and amateur his era were, you choose the other route of hugging the nostalgic aura of invincibility of the great fedor
ohh look. A "new breed" tard. Thought they all disappeared years ago.

He was a big reason I got totally obsessed with the sport. I think I started going on Sherdog in the midst of that. I got into it yrs before him,but I started to follow his progress. When he entered the tournament in 2004,it was just insane. It seemed like crazy unbelievable stuff would happen in all of his fights. All Love here. Fedor Forever.

@HHJ, can totally relate with your post. I was following Sakuraba first, when Saku ironically said he wanted to fight Fedor next during the "Saku vs Rickson dream fight" days was when I started researching and then following Fedor. I cannot find an article where he actually said that but that was very memorable.

and this is the "old breed" tard ladies and gentleman, known to burst in tears when the leader fedor is disrespected, also
extremely sensitive specie and wont leave his mom basement ever

I enjoyed watching Fedor fight.

His nuthugging fans are the real treat though. They go through so much mental gymnastics to explain away his losses and poor performances. Not to mention try to prop up his meaningless wins over the likes of Ogawa and Zuluzinho.
