Final call - Jones vs Gane predictions?

I'm almost certain its going to be a grind it out 5 rounder.

Most of the casuals are going to bitch and moan that Jon did nothing but hold Cyril up against the cage and knee his thighs for most of the fight.

Or that he held him down on the ground and didn't do much to him.

Jones by UD. That man just finds your weakness and wins at all costs.
Yeah, Jon made a good point. If ngannou can win that way, why couldn’t Jon.

u keep using the word fix lmao this aint pride where u fix fights
excuses.. ur not even confident about the anti jones threads you make haha
Business comes first in the UFC. Do they want France or keep cheater who is on his way out

I see Jones on his bike in this one to make Gane chase him to then slow him down later in the fight. Then gradually out point him with TDs.

Beat Gane at his usual gameplan. Jones is not going to want to trade with Gane and risk getting picked apart.

Older light heavyweight Jon Jones moving up to a higher weightclass against a fighter that is big and strong enough to stuff his take downs and happens to be a superior striker, will lose. Whether or not he gets KOed depends on if he happened to have chipped cocaine prefight....

This fight is so hard for me to predict. The 3 years off for John and the fact this is his first heavyweight fight I don’t know how his cardio will hold up. If pressed to make a decision on everything I know, I am guessing jones wins with grappling/wrestling. We know John has a fight iq and know he isn’t going to stand in the pocket and trade strikes with Cyril. That will lead to him losing and im positive he knows that. I think he looks for and opening early to take Cyril down and does that. Then ground and pound. I don’t know if he will finish him or grind out a decision but I’ll go with John.

Jones will cut off the ring with footwork, hooks and kicks. Flurry ensues from both men with Gane’s back against the cage.

After a right hand/hook from Gane, Jones duck under and get a takedown.

He focuses on control and lands elbow. Gane is bloodied. Tko.

Alternatively, Gane might also try to survive by turning his back, where Jon will flatten him out, GnP and get a RNC.

I think jones has grown a bit fragile over the years. A career of having those long, lean legs accumulates damage and he feels a little brittle to me when we watched the last few fights with Reyes and santos.

I don’t see him winning dominantly. But Jon is a unique man. There’s something about being isolated, hated, and exceptionally talented that brings something out of people. Jon has been backed into a corner metaphorically his entire career, and he always wins. He’s his best when people doubt him the most. He feeds off that energy.

I don’t love the weight move, I don’t love his career long injuries and the tax it has on him. But Jones talent and ability is one of a kind. He’s capable of rising above any contest until I see otherwise with my own eyes.

But people are not doubting him this fight. Media and the UFC are hyping him up to unrealistic levels. He's the bookies favourite. Casuals don't know Gane so they think it's easy work for Jones. So it's the opposite, and I think deep inside Jones knows his body is not at its peak anymore, and he's never fought someone as physically huge as Gane, not even close.

How do we know Cyril can stop Jon take downs? Jon is really strong and is obviously a much better grappler/wrestler than Francis. Francis took down Cyril and out grappled him. Also Cyril doesn’t come from a team that grappling/wrestling is their specialty. If anything I’m the most confident in this fight it’s that if this turns into a wrestling contest jon by far has the upper hand. The question I have is can Cyril use constant movement and make Jon pay for trying to get inside for the take down and hold that up for long periods of time? Because if Jon gets inside in a clinch situation or shoots in where Cyril can’t make him pay for it, it’s not going to go well for Cyril.

i'm afraid jones took the most difficult fight for him at hw as a first fight
gane is pretty versatile himself and very fast/powerful

It's hard to say given so many unknowns with Jones. We just don't know how he will look with the extra weight and after the long layoff. Can he handle the power of a guy with size and strength of Gane? Does he tire out quickly with the extra weight? Will we see a motivated and hungry Jones again, or will it be the tentative, boring Jones that we saw in his last few fights at LHW.

I'm thinking we know quickly into the 1st round how this fight will go. Once we see them engage and get a sense of what HW Jones looks like. Two things I can't get out of my head. One is we have never seen Jones legitimately lose a fight. Two is Gane got out wrestled by Nganeau. Given those factors, I'm predicting Jones by late submission.

I'm going with Gane.
This fight oddly reminds me of Sugar Ray Leonard/Terry Norris in '91.
Ray was a 3-1 favorite and hand picked Norris because he was chinny with shaky defense.
However, he was washed and never had any chance of winning that fight.

If this fight stay’s standing, Cyril should win. He is a better striker. Problem for him is this is mma so grappling and wrestling come into factor. That’s where Cyril is going to have issues.

If Jones can navigate the leg kicks I think he has little other trouble with Gsne who imo is very over rated.

50-45 bones as he lay n prays a boring rout

Predict a boring fight actually. Jones doesn't fight stupid he knows he owns him on ground n he put all that weight on so he can get Gsne there and hold him .

Btw I think some people are underestimating Cyril Gane. The guy for the heavyweight division is the best striker and is better than Jon in that regard. Shit he made Francis turn into a wrestler. But again I got Jon in this one because I think he will get a hold of Cyril and wrestle him and gnp

I predict Gane pulling a clic on the feet the first 2 and a hahalf and tiring and getting taken down repeatedly. Jones will win another close decision causing sherdog “luminati” conspiracy theories snot bubbles and tears
