I'm not disagreeing with what you're saying bro, but I have no clue where you got "being a marvel in muay thai" from in Alex since that's not the case. That's like me saying Ben Askren was a phenom in BJJ before entering MMA.
For the the Jones/Sergei fight, it's the more interesting fight compared to Jones/Stipe and I don't think anyone can deny that.
Stipe is extremely old even for a heavyweight, out of his prime, hasn't won since 2020 and is coming off a brutal KO loss which was all the way back 2021. Four or five years ago this would've been very compelling, but that's clearly not the case anymore.
However I agree that Sergei is definitely a little bit overrated by some here. He's got a hell of a reach, some decent boxing, solid chin and great power.
That being said, the Lewis and Tai wins weren't as crazy considering the context of them recently coming off brutal KO losses at the time along with those two being pretty one dimensional and Blaydes fought like a dummy against him which lead to the TKO.
I might sound like a hater for shitting on some of his resume, but I do think if Jones can implement some of his clinch and wrestling game early on he can cause Sergei massive trouble.
That being said, Sergei is still extremely dangerous with that power along with being the most reasonable contender to fight for the title right now. It just makes that fight much more intriguing compared to Stipe who's clearly done with his career at this point.
