Fans don't seem to know how to separate their personal emotions from reality. This is not a sport, this is PRIZE FIGHTING, it's always been about fighting for who will pay top dollar, this isn't the olympics where guys should just be happy to be in the UFC as if there's any sort of prestige or meaningful legacy to this hotdog-branding clownshow. If PFL will pay him more money to fight equal or lesser competition then he'd be crazy not to do that, he's also not a young man so it's a smart play to sign a deal that gives you a financial safety net beyond your fighting prime.
Fan thoughts on his "legacy" for leaving the UFC don't mean a damn thing, this is not a sport, it will never be a sport, MMA is matchmade based on profit, refs/judges are on the take and lean in favor of who UFC wants to win, bouts are subjectively scored on 'feels', not an objective point system or fair matchmaking. What he does or doesn't do from here on in terms of fighting resume doesn't matter, he just got the biggest W of his career and bigger than any he'd have gotten staying in the lowball organization.
