The way Strickland won…

Izzy relies on people getting over aggressive. When Sean was defensively sound and moving forward the whole time Izzy was lost. Sean picked his shots incredibly well
Exactly. Clean simple boxing seems the way to success against izzy. Izzy never looks confident leading with his hands. Thats why he won't really throw unless it's a wide open counter. Bc the opponent is stuck out of position with an open defense. When he leads with lunching against someone who's not off balance or out position with their guard in place he doesn't get through well. At least what I've noticed

Sorry Sherfront, Adesanya just had a bad night. Sean has nowhere near the skillset to even defend

Whoever that was Betting 36M on Israel was news that we know. That just paid for anyone that knew Strickland could do this.

He took away, much like Alex, Izzy's best weapon leg kicks by checking them right from the beginning and Izzy has never been a good boxer - alot of his punches are looping and he gets away with because he is (was?) so fast. Hence, izzy could not land his looping punch because sean was not falling for the cage thing and had his mobility because he was checking kicks.

Reminds me of Andy silva but at least Izzy was active but Strickland's defense was on point

Sean stay composed and gave Izzy nothing to counter and that apparently was the key, congrats to Sean he masterclassed that shit.

Lot of people have been critical of Strickland's style as boring, which is understandable. All those boring Apex headliners and all. But I've always been fascinated with how he's been very successful with a style that's so "basic". Every time, it's like "I can't believe this dude is winning like this", and every time it's still a bit surprising.

Exactly... it wasn't like a fluke shot like Bisping v Rockhold

Izzy had 5 rounds to do something and couldn't
Luke's propensity for bad hand defense shows that was not a fluke shot. That was intentional and Luke was overconfident. Luke is a better overall fighter skill wise but he's flawed and inconsistent.

Pure domination. Izzy had no answers for Stricklands style.

Well middle weight division just got interesting again.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

FUCKING STRICKLAND, COME ON... WHAT A CHAMP THIS ADESANYA, HUH!?
{<jordan}<{MingNope}><Kobe213>

Imagine Anderson losing to a guy like Strickland hahahahahahahahaha!! PRICELESS. "A master striker" that could even KO Jesus of Nazareth. I mean, where are those well-known PAYROLL, THE PAID GUYS who do Adesanya's DIRTY marketing right now!? Adesanya is a random wannabe that will never be Anderson. Like, never. Reality check losing to a common like Strickland.

WAR ANDERSON SILVA!!

This. Sean's patience and control (a bit ironic how he mouths off in-fight) got him the belt, in addition to his defense, teh jab, and that surprising front kick too.

His ability to be comfortable in the pocket and just read and answer is his best skill..
Nerves of steel....outside of that...theres not much else...a solid 1-2 and a teep kick...thats it ..

Izzy just couldn't adjust enough to the positioning
..

Interesting turn of events
