Ramadan is 3/10-4/9. UFC 300 is 4/13. I don't see Leon vs Belal/Islam/Shavkat happening at UFC 300. I do see these main cards happening though:

Poatan vs Izzy III - LHW Title
Aspinall vs Gane - HW Title
Grasso vs Shev III - Flyweight Title
Gaethje vs Arman
Jiri vs Rakic

This would be a great card.

are they allowed to at least train during ramadan, or just no fights?

Leon vs Shavkat, if dana could let colby skip the line I'm sure he could allow shavkat

belal will take the fight because if he declines they will never give him a title shot again as he has given them a reason to kill his ranking or pass him over.

so despite it being ramadan he will take the fight. and to hsi credit, he trains all year round so he is able to do it likely.

if he can't make 300 i could see connor getting the title shot or jorge.

they can train and fight during ramadan.

it is just diffiicult to properly train when you are on a one meal a day diet
Not sure if it's 1 meal a day, I think you can't eat for a certain time of the day, for example from 10 pm till 6 am., not sure though.

Amazing card, you're hired.

Muslims observe a strict fast from dawn until sunset. They are not allowed to eat or drink (even water) during daylight hours.

Although there are reasons why you may be exempt.

Good for weight cutting - no excuses for missing weight.

Belal has fought many times during Ramadan.

Fasting from food is easy. Not being able to drink water is the much bigger issue. It's very hard to train without hydration. Belal is the only Muslim I know of that is willing to fight during Ramadan.

I have nothing against anyone's faith, but if someone is unable to fight for religious reasons, UFC should go ahead and book the next available and worthy challenger. Yes I'm aware UFC takes a break over Christmas but I wish they wouldn't.

Couldn’t fighters just change their training schedules for non-daylight hours? They fight in countries that are many time zones away. It would have minimal impact on their physical conditioning. Personal lives are another matter.

Also worth noting: Belal has travelled to Dagestan for training and he's been adhering much more strictly to his faith than in the past. I do not see Belal training (during Ramadan) in Dagestan for a fight in Las Vegas only al few days after Ramadan ends.

I say again, Belal, Islam (or Shavkat) won't be fighting at UFC 300 - therefor Leon won't be fighting either.

I understand there are ways around it. Fidya is donating to islamic charities to make up for not completing the fasting I think.

Boxers already do this since they routinely fight in late evening / very early AM.

No GSP, no Conor, no Brock, no Ronda? Your card is not ufc 300 material man

Ramadan isn’t one meal a day. You’re only allowed to eat or drink during non daylight hours. Sunrise to sunset is a complete fast, but otherwise you can eat how you like.
