Ukraine says it shot down a Russian A-50 Mainstay airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) jet on Sunday over the Azov Sea.
On the evening of January 14, reports emerged on Russian and Ukrainian Telegram channels regarding the downing of a Russian A-50 jet and the damage inflicted on an Il-22M.
This information was partially confirmed by the Commander of the Ukrainian Air Forces, Mykola Oleshchuk, and sources within the Ukrainian government.

In a terse communication, the Ukrainian Commander shared an emoji representing an aircraft and conveyed, “This is for you, over the Dnipro! Burn in hell, inhuman! P.S. Details to follow,” indicating a retaliatory action.
The outlet “Militarniy,” citing authoritative sources, reported the loss of the Russian long-range radar detection and control aircraft A-50 with the registration RF-50601 “Red” over Ukrainian airspace. Additionally, damage to the Il-22M11 command and control aircraft was reported.
The A-50 was reportedly downed shortly after entering the patrol zone near Kyrylivka around 21:10-21:15 on January 14, according to RBC. The aircraft vanished from radar and ceased responding to tactical aviation requests. Subsequently, a Russian Su-30 pilot observed a fire and descent of an unidentified aircraft.
As of now, the Russian Ministry of Defense has not officially commented on the claims of two of its rare airborne command platforms being downed. However, Russian military bloggers with influential connections have mourned the reported losses.
In a related development, Russian military figure Ilya Tumanov, through his influential channel ‘Fighterbomber,’ confirmed an incident involving a Russian A-50 radar jet over the Azov Sea.
The Beriev A-50, with the NATO reporting name Mainstay, serves as Russia’s airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft, based on the Ilyushin Il-76 transport. The situation surrounding the downing of these aircraft adds complexity to an already delicate regional security landscape.

I'm guessing he either got his "degrees" from an online diploma mill, or more likely is one of those resentful chuds that thinks he can use the internet to "self teach" his way into the equivalent. I mean, he calls himself a historian, but clearly has absolutely no actual training as such. I'd be shocked if he managed to pull a BA in history at a remotely professional, accredited institution

Serious question why do we allow access to pro Russian videos on our social media? They are fine deleting content from us on their platforms?

Over an over again now I hear youtube is removing videos of Russians pulling people out of their apartments? These are people who are protesting the Russian war.

Yes it is violent but it's a way to inform people about zero free speech in Russia. Who the F runs our platforms?

They had sued Wikipedia, Google and MS and had banned Linked In.
Linked In they had banned because by using this programmers might find next job really easily. While their claims about personal info really looked silly; in Linked In ppl are posting their e mail, Phone and some version of CV plus pic....real one....

IMHO it is a bit broken chatbot. My english currently is awful, when I was younger it was better.... I mean writing skills....nothing bad for me today while it is what this is. He ....basically chatbot bad version.
If about online degrees they are different and especially popular cos covid lockdowns era and also ofc for working persons.
While f.e in EU usually if you have remote learning you still should do final exams for each module in person plus ofc ....final exam in person and thesis Def process...in person.

The amount of Russian aircraft Downed by their own AA is pretty staggering.

Even for them this would be a major fuck up, how the hell do you target 2 massive aircraft which happen to be some of the most important in your airforce

Russians are awesome first they were the biggest providers of tanks an arms to Ukraine! They are accusing EU and UK & Norway and Biden about heating problems in russia while russia does have more local origin fuel than they are capable to consume. TG channels are filled with idea that Biden and U.K are responsible for heating problems in russia.
