How Strickland broke Adesanya (pics inside)

Izzy is a trickester and Sean is mentally strong and dfesnively sound, he did not fall for his tricks. Sean was hungrier, Izzy has more millage. And he rocked him hard in the first round. I totally can see Brunson finishing Izzy on the ground if he didn´t get styled on and fell apart mentally. Who challenged Izzy on the ground. Knocking him down in the first was pretty much at least half the battle won.

Too bad Strickland's fight style doesn't match his shit talk style.
As long as he wins it doesnt matter. You can have a boring style, but as long as you win and people react on the personality, you can make money.

Winning decisions with 1-2s and jabs is a recipe for having your fans turn on you in MMA. If you can't fight like you talk and consistently go to decision because you have limited finishing capability then making money won't mean much because the promotion will give you fewer opportunities for the money fights. The reason why UFC didn't want jump to book Strickland: his style.

How can they turn on a guy who always fights like this? They know what they signed up for.

Colby and Chael's boring style never held them back. As long as you win and have a personality, how you actually win dont mean dick.

Strickland is a nightmare matchup and Izzy never beats him.

He looked faster and Adesanya looked slower than I remember him as well. Greats reads and reflexes by Strickland in order to successfully check and especially parry like that. It was a very offensive defense!

Yeah its one thing to try and sell the fight, but Strickland is all about talking about being about that psycho life. But then just goes in there and spars with you.

Its about as cringe as a lot of fighters saying that they would die in the octagon, but its all just bs shit talk. Most of them are the crotch sniffers too.
Did you not see Dricus's face after that fight? He look like he was in a car accident.

I don't know how you typically spar dude...

What are Adesanya’s deficiencies in your eyes? I’m by no means a fan and don’t “care” about him so to speak but just interested. For me I saw a man who they said would be easily taken down, but as the years went on he learned to use to cage to his advantage greatly, which played into his gameplan of sticking on the outside. Normally they would tell a striker to not let themselves be backed up all the way, but Israel used it to his advantage and impressively so really for a guy with no wrestling experience.

His striking was also so far ahead that he was able to win while his opponents knew what he was going to do. They knew he was going to stay on the outside and throw low kick after low kick but hardly anyone had an answer. That speaks for how far ahead he was. Theres stuff that goes on in the cage that we as fans cannot begin to comprehend. But the low kick was effective because izzy was pin point accurate with his hands. If low kicks where all he had, they would be easily negated. This is all imo of course

He might not be the greatest person ever but he’s definitely not a full blown turd like a Jones for example. At least Israel actually came to fight, not poke eyes out and stomp on knees from a distance.

This might be the most realistic, fair post about Adesanya I've seen on the boards a in long time. Good job by you.

Strickland's work with Poatan probably helped him a lot in low kick defense.

so u mean getting cuts = more damage?
do you even consider the damage ddp caused when he throwed powerful kicks
and punches to sean?

i mean did u see why sean backpedal for 4.5 rounds?
pretty sure if he didnt felt the damage he would just move forward
and tank that sht up

but he coward away like a prey that is being stalked
