Crime What did the cops do wrong today Megathread Vol. 6 ? (who knows, lots of cop threads)

Law enforcement officials are acknowledging for the first time that Spirit Lake Police officers shot and a killed woman in her senior living apartment on Nov. 1 following a call for assistance.

A report from the Kootenai County Coroner this week said 67-year-old S.A Floyd died of homicide. Until Friday, officials had not said whether her death was a direct result of police gunfire, prompting speculation regarding how she died.

S.A Floyd, 67, was found dead in her senior living apartment three hours after two Spirit Lake police officers fired their weapons at her. Floyd was blind, according to her assistants, and was close to being evicted from her home. Officials have not said why police shot their guns or if Floyd had a weapon. The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office said the two officers went into the apartment and “encountered a female in a bedroom where an officer-involved shooting occurred.” A gun was later found next to her body.

The coroner’s report lists Floyd’s classification of death as “trauma.” This means any type of injury, Kootenai County Chief Deputy Coroner Lynn Acebedo said.

“What’s on there is on there for a reason,” Acebedo said.

Sheriff’s office spokesman Lt. Zachary Sifford confirmed Friday after the release of the report that Floyd was killed by police.

The sheriff’s office investigated the shooting, which is standard protocol, and sent it to the Kootenai County Prosecutor’s Office three weeks ago, Sifford said. The prosecutor’s office will decide whether the shooting was justified or whether to charge the officers. Their names have not been released.

This sh*t boils my blood. Taxpayers having to pay TWICE for these clowns. Once for their salary, and once to settle lawsuits for their idoicy.

Cop: "What's the deal with you?"

Man: "I just had surgery yesterday. Here's my paperwork."

Cop: "What's going on with you?"

Man: "I just had surgery, I have cancer."

Cop: "I just dont understand why you're being this way."

Cop: "Oh you just had surgery yesterday? Here lemme rough you up a little bit, that should help."

JFC. Their training is supposed to NOT escalate. Yet here we are. Instant escalation to a man who is willing to work with them. He literally tells them he just had surgery. They don't care.

Instead of asking for his papers and relaxing they instantly go hands on and threaten violence. We live in a police state. The police are the standing army our Forefathers warned about.

The lecture the "good Cop" gave him at the end is f*ckin INFURIATING.

"Yeah, you just had surgery, so why aren't YOU doing precisely what we command you to do??"

Way to infantilize a person for simply trying to explain to you what was going on with him.

This is an insane level of incompetence. This deputy mistook the sound of an acorn falling on his vehicle for a gunshot and then unloaded his clip at the suspect that he had in custody, who was handcuffed in the back of the cruiser.

This prompted the supervisor on scene to discharge his weapon as well.

Miraculously, the guy who was arrested was not injured.

Talk about being a fucking pussy. He should be fired.

Taxpayers gonna get raked over the coals.

We should go back to the Wild West where 'Marshals' drift through quarterly but in the meantime, average citizens are left to deal with local lawlessness.

Save money and time. Any potential miscarriage of justice couldn't any be worse, right?

It would empowering for people to decide what is permissible in their burgs and how to administer laws.

You know the difference between a Sheriff and Marshal, right?

He resigned three weeks after this while they were still investigating, but the investigation did confirm that he violated policy

So they have a policy against being dumber than any of the characters in the Police Academy movies?

Did they arrest the acorn for public nuisance?
