News Demetrious Johnson bow and arrow chokes 6’3” 250 lbs Brown Belt Sherdogger at IBJJF Championships

This guy couldn't even get DJ to the ground.
And you can't even read apparently:
Don't get me wrong, they're still largely being stupid. But none of them are saying they'd land a bow and arrows choke or grapple them. They're (delusionally) saying they'd just throw them into a wall or something if they had to fight them for real.
A BJJ match is not a street fight. It's not at all what any of them are talking about when they think they could win an actualfight.

They're dumb as fuck thinking they can fight trained fighters in a street fight, but none of them are saying they'd try and compete against them in a proper setting like in actual martial arts. It's specifically street fights where there aren't those things and they think they can just do whatever they need to to win.

It's dumb because them not knowing how you're supposed to do things is exactly why they'd lose. Shit like "I just need to get close" or "I punch him when he's trying to sub me" is dumb because they in fact don't even know how to do either of those properly. So it's low likelihood and even if it does work it's not as effective as it could be.

For all the "See, small guys can beat the fuck out of big guys" posts in here, let's remember that there was no striking here. That can change shit real fast. I mean, here's little Jerry Bohlander with ten times the skill that arm wrestler Gary Goodridge had at this point in his career at UFC 8...

...not to mention what Dan Severn did to poor little Anthony Macias at UFC 4 without even needing to strike...

It's not as simple in either direction as "Size>Skill" or "Skill>Size." You should be able to acknowledge that size can be a tremendous asset and can easily - and has often been - the difference-maker at the same time as you acknowledge that skill can make up for a lot, even a disparity in size/strength.

But kudos to Mighty Mouse on the bad ass performance. Old schoolers will no doubt recall Marcelo Garcia's defeat of the much larger Ricco Rodriguez, who was very skilled and particularly good at leglocks but who still got tapped with a heel hook by Marcelo the submission wizard.

Ernesto Hoost vs Bob Sapp comes to mind, 4x K-1 Grand Prix winner and one of the very very vest to ever do it vs a juicehead:

Crazy thing is, Hoost actually went on to win the K-1 Grand Prix the same night after he got stopped by Bob Sapp (Sapp couldn’t continue bc of injury)

It's so funny when untrained wankers sincerely think that they could beat a Flyweight in a fight.

Sure but that’s not a fight. It’s some random fat bald guy against an mma goat. Where you just grab long articles of clothing.

You shouldn’t view this as a win for a small guy who is the best in the world beating some fatso.

Do you think an untrained guy of any size could beat Demetrious Johnson in a fight?

Because they could not.

Haha, I just rewatched a bunch of old K-1 GPs last week, including that insane 2002 GP. Hoost loses to Sapp in the opening round, then gets to rematch him in the finals when Sapp's original opponent Semmy Schilt dropped out due to injury; then he gets to move on to the semi-finals because Sapp withdraws from the tournament after beating Hoost a second time in the quarterfinals; then Hoost makes it to the finals after his semi-final opponent Ray Sefo injures his leg low kicking Hoost; and then Hoost wins the finals by kicking Jerome Le Banner's injured arm. Talk about being fated to win. The sport God was clearly guiding Hoost through that tournament by the hand

Very underappreciated when he was here. Such a shame it didn't work out in the UFC, but DJ has showed himself proud outside of the company. Happy to see.

Definitely. Maybe the most underappreciated/underrated MMA fighter ever. Doesnt help he didn't have a deep division to display his skills against, but you've gotta admire his skills.

Especially considering his longevity. For such a small guy, it's even more impressive that he's had such a long run.

That "random fat bald guy" would easily beat pretty much every untrained person in a fight.

Because they could not.

If anything, it would be an even faster win for DJ. Even this same guy, a 250lb brown belt in BJJ, unless he's also trained striking a lot, DJ probably would have busted him up really quickly.

An untrained guy? Almost no shot against DJ. like, maybe 1 or 2 percent chance to land a fluke haymaker, but it would be an absolute fluke. DJ would see it coming a mile away.

Yes, if the guy was 500 lbs and fit.
I don't care how talented a 6 year old is, he won't beat a healthy grown man. There does come a point where size and strength is just too much.

Lol, When I was wrestling I had a 105lb guy that gave me fits I wrestled at 145-150..quick little fucker lmao.

Its not me though, I of course would toss DJ around...being a Sherdogger and all lol.
Ofc that wasn't you, you'd be an inch too short to be a sherdogger!
