What I'd like to know is whether the growth of WS and WN groups reflects the growth of the Antifa and BLM movements. I'd also be interested to see if membership in and actions by groups such as the Proud Boys also reflect a growth in Antifa and BLM and their activities.

that’s not a statement remotely close to specifying just this election. Nor are threats to this country confined to hypotheticals in the future regarding one political party. And if that expansion pulls said group on the Right into this new expanded definition of what constitutes WS and WN then yes I guess you could then point and say there is growth or surge. Does that make it actually accurate if you compare them against prior to and after a criteria expansion?

For example, Proud Boys. Regardless of what you think about them personally this is about the current perception of them as WN and or domestic terrorist. What is the criteria to label them WN or WS if they number in their ranks many POC? As for potential domestic terrorists, aside from fights with Antifa or BLM what acts of domestic terrorism can be laid at their feet that couldn't also be laid at the feet of Antifa or BLM?

I said this earlier and I stand by it.

The Proud Boys aren't white nationalists, they're just a right wing group that's initiation literally requires political violence. They share goals with white nationalists, and they work together. If we're talking an election where Trump cries fraud at the first hint of a loss and pushes for groups to take action, we'll see Proud Boys out there and I don't really care if they're racist or not at that point.

There's nuance to the discussion, the Proud Boys are pretty unique in existing as opposition to opposition, so they don't really fall under a strict ideology but they definitely have an impact on political discourse in the areas they operate.
