Does anyone else find the disregard for Pereira as a competent grappler irritating?

It's a bit of both but i think the lack of grapplers this generation of fighters has been purposeful on the UFC's part. I think there are still hugh level grapplers out there but the UFC is signing way less of them which is leading to less fights being won via grappling. The lack of them is just...

Does anyone else find the disregard for Pereira as a competent grappler irritating?

He is benifiting from the MW and LHW divisions having very little grapplers. The UFC let a lot go in free agency like Bader, Davis, Anderson and Rumble who was more of a striker that had fairly good wrestling. Then DC and Glover retired and Jones moved to HW. The best grapplers at MW aged out...

Does anyone else find the disregard for Pereira as a competent grappler irritating?

I mean there really aren't any good grapplers in the division, the UFC decided to let Bader, Davis and Anderson all go in free agency. DC retired, Glover retired, Jones went to HW and Rumble left the UFC then tragically passed away. Ankalaev is more of a striker than he is a grappler but his...

Costa vs Luke was a lot more action then people seem to remember.

Does anyone else find the disregard for Pereira as a competent grappler irritating?

Yep, his defensive grappling is highly underrated. He doesnt have great sweeps or even get ups bur his TDD is pretty good and people generally cant do anything to hin in the ground.

Is Topuria the most unlikable UFC champion in UFC history?

O'malley at least asked to fight someone who had beaten him. Illia wants to fight Ortega who has fought like once in the last 3 years and was beaten soundly by both the guys Illia is refusing to fight. Illia is the biggest diva champion we have ever had.

Is Topuria the most unlikable UFC champion in UFC history?

None of the guys you have mentioned have acted like like as much of a diva as Illia has. People seem confused about what this thread is about since most don't seem to actually read threads and just read titles then post.

Is Topuria the most unlikable UFC champion in UFC history?

LMAO, you can't dictate what a thread is about to the person that made it.

Is Topuria the most unlikable UFC champion in UFC history?

I'm not really counting the personal life stuff and personality I'm more like counting the way they behave as a champion in terms of being a diva that's the point of the thread. I feel like nobody really read the thread other than the title so they didn't pick that up.

Is Topuria the most unlikable UFC champion in UFC history?

You can have that mindset all you want but I'm just telling you what the point of this thread is about since I'm the one that made it.

Is Topuria the most unlikable UFC champion in UFC history?

Not really. You're just misunderstanding the context I'm talking about. I mean in terms of how he acts in relation to his MMA career, not him as a person. Jones is a much worse person obviously but I'm not talking about that. Gotta read more than the title.

Is Topuria the most unlikable UFC champion in UFC history?

I mean for stuff related to their MMA careers.

Is Topuria the most unlikable UFC champion in UFC history?

So far he has seemingly turned down the Volkanovski rematch, won't fight Holloway unless the BMF belt is on the line, has called out Ortega who both Volkanovski and Holloway have soundly beaten and has fought like once in the last 2-3 years. He's also asked to fight O'malley and Islam before...

    If Costa beats Strickland

We'll see I think you're totally wrong. Whoever wins it will be by one round.

Illia Topuria Is Already Becoming Insufferable

That's just going to piss people off. People already don't Ike Topuria's behavior. He should just defend his belt against Holloway and if Holloway wins he vacates the BMF belt and 2 other top contenders that have fallen short fight for it. That is the whole point of that belt.

Illia Topuria Is Already Becoming Insufferable

Anderson did that once and Conor never defended his belts and didn't seem like he was going to anyway, they had Nate fight him on short notice and it backfired. Anderson and Conor especially transcended the sport in their popularity. You're talking about things that are extremely unlikely to...

Illia Topuria Is Already Becoming Insufferable

Then that belt becomes totally meaningless and can't change divisions anymore they won't ever have them just defend the BMF belt. For that belt to have any purpose it has to stay separate from the real belts.

Illia Topuria Is Already Becoming Insufferable

The whole point of the BMF belt seemed to be for fighters who were almost able to win the real belts but not quite to fight for a belt. It should never be on the line against a real champion otherwise it defeats the purpose of the belt.

Where does Yoel Romero rank in MW History?

Yes, he has good names on his resume but everyone you named was passed their best when Yoel fought them which matters. Kennedy, Machida, Weidman, Jacare and Rockhold were all past their best years when they fought Yoel. There were also controversies in a few of those fights like Yoel getting...

Where does Yoel Romero rank in MW History?

I have him in the 10-15 range as well. A lot of people seem to rank people more on perceived skill than actual results which I find really strange.
