Doesn't seem like a good idea to put a huge star against a guy most people don't know or care about. Just put him against Aspinal or Jones or anyone great so that if he loses, he's doesn't lose that much of his hype.
That’s what he gets for being so boring that he has to beg people to remember his name. If he had even the slightest of personality or entertainment value this wouldn’t be an issue.
Someone I know told me about how she got bullied. Dad was done with it after it kept happening so he gave her a piece of garden hose and told her to beat the shit out of the bully. Worked well. Sometimes violence is the answer. I guess not “socially accepted” anymore these days.
Below chance is not a good baseline for a sports-betting model though. It should be compared to the baseline of always picking the betting favorite IMO. That would probably get you close to 70% already. Even then, for actual betting it would be better if it spit out the chance of a fighter...
Yeah and at least 50% of those were absolutely garbage no name opponents with records of 0-0 and 0-1 while he was already an experienced fighter with 15ish pro fights. Once he got to top quality opponents he quit after 3 fights.
Longevity is important for rankings. Obviously it's a lot easier...
You're basing your opinion on a 5 year old fight in which he didn't get finished by a guy with serious KO power at LW. Max has a chin as good if not better than most LWs. I think he will do a lot better than people think.
