That's alot of monkees

You can’t fabricate talent like the Partridge Family in sports. Either you’re the real deal or you aren’t. That will quickly become apparent in the actual UFC.

It’s more like a “search for the Stars”. Just bringing these new people to the attention of a bigger audience.

I didn't read your entire list but Ricky Turcios is a TUF alum, not a DWCS guy

UFC produces DWCS to put Dana on a pedestal and elevate the profile of these fighters who don't have to necessarily fight smart to win -- just ultra-aggressive against other low level fighters. It is a violent interview for a job.

That is fabricating "talent" to look more legit than it is. It doesn't mean they lack basic skills, because he is drawing from trained fighters.

The Monkees played instruments and sang -- and had #1 hits -- but they don't appear to get the same respect as others who came up differently?

When you hear them announce a fighter is from DWCS -- those fighters give me the same vibe as Replacement Player during strikes who get a chance to make the Regular Team. Which makes it more fun to watch in some cases.

Rubbish.

this is how the business works. you find young talent, give them a fair fight on tv, if they win convincingly you sign them and now you have a new talent to play with. watch how dana books bo nickal, look how he booked omalley and walker. it is really smart and helps create stars even if you are fronting on their actual talent. i love dwcs.
Filling up the ufc roster with a bunch of star struck fighters that will be underpaid and should be on the regional but because they are in the UFC the shills will spout out their mouths that they are the pinnacle of fighters on the planet.

Not rubbish. Pretty spot.
DWCS is a way to control and promote the talent.

A boring wrestler might be 18-4 and goes on the DWCS and wins his fight but doesn't get signed because he's boring and didn't go for it.
But some joker that's 3-0, has no existent fight IQ but is aggressive and fights like he's playing rock em sock em robots against another similarly low level fighter will get signed because he went for the kill.

They are trying to control the talent.

nobody is saying they are the pinnacle of fighters but they get a good push and a good amount of tv time and get their name out well. in the business side that is very smart. this is not my personal opinion just pointing out the smart booking.

You can’t “fabricate” talent in sports like you can with music. This isn’t Milli Vanilli.

And tying it all together.. I call out Shania Twain for lip syncing at the 2002 Grey Cup Game halftime show. She was bouncing all over the stage in sub-zero celsius weather, and her vocal track remained even throughout the performance. But she was huffin and puffin talking in between songs.

Some things you can fake. Some things you can’t. And it’s not my problem if you don’t know that.

Just because something is good for the UFC doesn't mean it's good for mma.
It's been well documented that the UFC would rather have less skilled but more entertaining fighters on their roster. That's because the average UFC fan isn't a mma fan. They are fight fans. They want to see car wrecks. The UFC wants to make money so they will manipulate their business to make as much money as possible.

Jake Shields
Okami
Fitch
DJ
Jarrod Rosholt (was 3-1 in the ufc HW division before the ufc decline to resign him because he was boring)

The TV and push is just the UFC'S PR machine that can make any fighter look unstoppable. The UFC doesn't need the best fighters on their roster because the ufc knows whomever the promote as the best the non-knowledgeable public will eat it up and shill for the UFC.

You can easily fake talent.

If I'm the UFC I can take 2 bums and use my reputation as having the best fighters in the world and promote their fight as between 2 of the world's best when really they are really regional level.

We see this more in wmma when we're forced to watch to soccer moms that have no business make thousands of dollars to put on horrible performances but still they are touted as the best in the world.

Yes, it's exactly like the monkees if they were on network tv every week and all over the radio from coast to coast, otherwise no, it's nothing like the monkees, it's like a high school talent show.
