After training kung fu, Neo thought he could stop all these bullets stretching out his right hand. RIP

Humbert, after putting Lo to bed, walks out the hotel room and locks the door. He stands for a moment alone in the hallway, hesitating, turning over the key in his hand.
Suddenly he lets out a sigh as if a huge weight had been lifted from his shoulders. He clenches the key tightly in a fist, walks to the end of the hallway where a window stands open, and throws the key out into the black night where no one shall ever find it again.
(Part 2 later perhaps, I have this whole shit planned out until the end)
(Part 2)
He goes downstairs to the bar and orders a drink. Morning finds him still there alone, hunched over a table uncomfortably asleep. He is awakened by the cleaning staff. He stumbles wearily up the stairs to the room where she is sleeping. Outside the first rays of the sun are shining and the birds are singing.
He knocks on the door slowly, softly. There is no answer, she is probably still asleep. He continues to knock, but slowly with the same softness, until he hears a movement behind the door, then the lock turning, she opens the door. Her eyes are still half closed by sleep, but in her unguarded smile he can see there is a genuine happiness to see him.

Tbh i feel with "the Cruel" history has been a bit unfairI laughed out loud reading this.. at the part where it said dark reign of Simba the Cruel
After winning a pig at the county fair, Arthur goes back to his farm and has a delicious breakfast of bacon and eggs and biscuits with homemade sausage gravy.
After Tony Stark invented time travel, the remaining Avengers decided to be teleported in time and space to the planet Thanos retired to right after he was stabbed in the chest. The superheroes quickly disabled the mortally wounded villain and relieved him of the infinity stones, and snapped the universe back to what it was before. The reunited Avengers assembled at a New York shawarma shop and spent the next two hours shooting the shit
I'm sorry. But I'm still thinking about biscuits and gravy from the other day.

Jeez give us a clue WTF you're talking about(Part 3)
Humbert sits in the armchair the whole night. Barely moving and silent as he was during the day with eyes downcast, it hardly matters whether he slept. In the morning when she is awake, he tells her gently that he plans to take her to the college town where he is to begin a teaching position and there enroll her in school. Icily calm now, Lo sits on the edge of the bed and stares at him with hatred in her eyes, deep down knowing he is somehow responsible for her mother’s death. Perhaps even she is somehow responsible? She shrinks from the thought, her hatred for him growing even stronger.
He quickly packs their things. Throughout he is careful not to touch her or even look at her, preferring to keep his eyes downcast. She obeys his instructions silently with an icy contempt. He checks them out of the hotel, puts their trunks in the car, and they have a silent trip to the college town where he is to begin teaching.
And from here Humbert begins a long (years long) act of penance. He enrolls her in the best school he can find. He gets her the best tutors. He makes sure she never wants for anything, although making sure not to spoil her. With whatever income he has left he makes sure that she has all the best experiences that would enrich a young girl: theater, music, sports, travel. He spends all his time outside of work following up with her teachers on her education or at home, cleaning, sewing, making their meals, laundering clothes. He never dates or even so much as associates with anyone outside of the demands of work and her education. He is never harsh with Lo, never angry or frustrated, never denying her anything she asks unless he felt it was bad for her. He becomes, to put it simply, both the perfect stepfather and stepmother, with all his money time and energy dedicated to giving her a great childhood. The only exception is that he says very little to her, always keeping it constrained to the minutiae necessary for their daily life. He is also careful never to touch her or even look at her, preferring to keep his eyes trained on the floor when she is around.

I'm certain I haven't, and certain many others are not recognizing the "iconic scene" that was your springboard, though I saw someone mention early Kubrick and that's def a black hole for me at this time (besides 2001, Shining, of course)Perhaps it will make sense to you when I'm done, but I assume you have watched the movie?
