Not at all saying Colby won.

He didn't win.

But this may be cause for a rematch after Colby beats Wonderboy.

Colby simply started his domination too late.

"According to the UFC’s stats provider, Covington outstruck Edwards 109-65 overall and had about four times as much control time."

54 of those shots were in the 5th round. He was credited with a single sig strike during an entire 3;03 of control time. That single sig strike was a body shot at range in that round.

He barely won the 5th round on control time. If that triangle had been a little more threatening you could argue the round for Leon under the scoring criteria.

Once he beats the man that is almost 41 years old, 1-3 in his last 4 and has clearly demonstrated the kryptonite and weakness in his game? The game that colby( maybe still) has ?
Fuck that. Colby needs to beat a top well rounded credible threat and even then he Needs more. Let's see if he can even be active, the only thing active about colby is his fucking gums that never stop flapping.

I'm inclined to think that your suggestion of a rematch is trolling, but the reality is that Colby's never going to be scheduled for a title fight again. The only chance he has at fighting in one is if he gets a win or two and steps in as an emergency backup. WW has gotten crowded. There's Belal, Shavkat, and then other guys like Brady, Garry, and JDM coming up too.

As a Colby fan... THIS.

Okay so let Colby derail Garry.

Colby would annihilate him and leave him in a pool of his own blood.

Then a title shot.

Colby racking up numbers on the strike count with VICIOUS shots in round 5:

Watching the levels of delusion and sheepish behaviour from Colby fans after their idol got throughly outclassed I can better understand how a specimen as Donal Trump can be elected for president in the US
Then again, the current one couldn't even live alone so yea, hard times

TS makes a strong case, there's no denying that.

Colby was heavily compromised.

Even at the press conference, Leon thugishly launched a projectile (that is not much lighter than a brick) at Colby. This of course damaged Colby both physically and emotionally. Colby's too humble to bring this up.

If Colby can beat a tough opponent like Tony or Paddy, then he more than deserves another shot at the belt.
