If anything, it showed that Francis is improving A LOT of his wrestling/grappling which he lacked.
And (let us not forget), he fought INJURED and still beat a guy like Gane.

As for Gane, it surprises me you saying this. Because prior to this fight, who was able to even get close to grapple with him?

So no, the reasoning why they would beat Jon remains. The only change here is the fact the UFC now lost ALL leverage against Francis, and so they want to discredit his win as much as possible so they can try to push him to accept less than he deserves.

They're shills. Also on some level DC wants to believe nobody will beat Jones, because it makes his losses to him age better if he also beats everyone else at LHW/HW. If Ngannou just sleeps Jones then DC is going to start questioning himself whether he trained hard enough or did the right things in the fight. Because DC hit Jones with some good shots and didn't put him down or anything, so in the back of his mind he has to be hating the idea of someone else being the guy to beat him.
