This is the dumbest argument against Bernie. The guy is 78, has had a six figure Congressional salary for decades, and wrote three books that had decent sales. Its really not damning at all. When I first heard he was a millionaire I was imagining this guy owning a few mansions, maybe a yacht, and being worth like 8 figures but that's far from the case. As for why he owns three houses? Turns out the guy has a house in his home state, a townhouse apartment where he works in DC, and a summer home that's also in Vermont. Wow how extravagant, he bought a home where he works and a summer home on top of his first house.
His net worth is ~$2.5 million and a lot of that comes from after he gained a national profile in 2016 which helped him sell his latest books. He's also one of the
least wealthy Senators, with his net worth being a couple hundred thousand under the median. People over a decade over retirement age having a low seven figure net worth are not the kind of people Bernie or most leftists have in mind when they think of the super rich.
