Opinion Doormat: Adventures in Communism

Hey man, just words on a screen so no need to get all riled up.

Hey I admitted communism is bad (as evidenced by your developmental problems stemming from malnutrition), what more do you want?

I watched a documentary way back. Here's an article that outlines some of the same points

The fall of the Soviet Union left Cuba in a dire economic situation. Cuban citizens started to grow crops on their balconies whilst farmers, left with no petrol or pesticides, were forced to resort to traditional methods to feed themselves. This started a true revolution: that of organic agriculture in Cuba.

https://www.lifegate.com/people/news/organic-agriculture-in-cuba

Ive seen and had to help my family grow our own produce but it’s hard to have a farm when people keep stealing and eating your oxen, cows, and chickens. In Cuba we are now importing ostrich for dat healthy diet. The government has said and I quote “it has more meat than 10 cows”

....A Phillies fan said this? Go back to checking under the bed for the deficit brother
Look at the guy who claims to be a conservative not caring about Trump running up a trillion a year in deficits.
To me that's a doormat, when you don't hold people you vote for, accountable. Trump is wiping his deficit soaked feet on you.

people can semantic it out all they want, but
A) you don't tax a nation into prosperity, PERIOD
and B) not a single Communist of Socialist nation has ever been even remotely successful

You don't build an entire Western society on Globalism (the last 20-30 years), and then combat that by having the state run everything. Private investments, growth, and FDIs matter.....

Why do people think Bernie Sanders went to a Private Hospital for his heart attack? Why does he own 3 houses? even he can't walk the walk of the talk he's talking

Well as you can tell by the last few pages all these guys offer is witty remarks and auto bot liking each other’s posts. c'est la vie

I’m only glad that these bottom feeders represent only the most envious and run down parts of society. That’s all socialism is...envy

Bernie is a social democrat, nothing communistic about his policies. Plenty of social democracies like Scandinavia, Germany, France, Canada and so on are extremely succesful.

Bernie has never, and will never, say that someone shouldn't own 3 houses. There's absolutely nothing in his policies that suggest that. In regards to healthcare, he would be subject to the exact same laws under M4A as everyone else.

That's the best you've got? What lazy talking points.

You could be hit over the head over and over with common sense evidence and still you’d just keep blinding yourself huh insano?

if Bernie believe that we should tax the elite/wealthy to pay for others that can't (moochers)...
then clearly by default he shouldn't have 3 houses, nor a supercar, etc... That money should be voluntarily donated, b/c that's literally all he talks about is the wealth disparity

GO look at the income tax rates of Scandinavia, Denmark, and Germany and get back to me. THAT WILL NEVER PASS CONGRESS, just stop, it's absurd. Furthermore, unlike those can ass countries that couldn't defend themselves to save their lives, we have a military that establishes our global hegemony.

So Bernie is a disingenuous 'do as i say, not as i do' kind of guy then? B/c that's how that works playa

This is the dumbest argument against Bernie. The guy is 78, has had a six figure Congressional salary for decades, and wrote three books that had decent sales. Its really not damning at all. When I first heard he was a millionaire I was imagining this guy owning a few mansions, maybe a yacht, and being worth like 8 figures but that's far from the case. As for why he owns three houses? Turns out the guy has a house in his home state, a townhouse apartment where he works in DC, and a summer home that's also in Vermont. Wow how extravagant, he bought a home where he works and a summer home on top of his first house.

His net worth is ~$2.5 million and a lot of that comes from after he gained a national profile in 2016 which helped him sell his latest books. He's also one of the least wealthy Senators, with his net worth being a couple hundred thousand under the median. People over a decade over retirement age having a low seven figure net worth are not the kind of people Bernie or most leftists have in mind when they think of the super rich.

No it's not, not in the slightest

When someone is arguing that the wealthy should be heavily taxed...….they should walk that walk. Period, end of story.
Nexttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

You just proved our points, 'Bernie and the leftists don't have them in mind'.....They are Millionaires, the only DEM On stage last debate that wasn't was Buttigieg FFS

In Denmark the tax rates are insane (45%) if you make 60k a year, plus you are able to purchase suplemental insurance (doormats policy would not) and Denmark’s healthcare is run locally instead of the nationalized system doormat wants. Insano is a lost cause and can’t see how any of that would work here in a he US. Doormat was asked again and he still can’t say how will pay for anything. He’s not even a smart enough communist politically

What so he should live like a beggar or something? Haha, what a nonsensical argument. I like Bernie but he is far from perfect. That said this point is just really dumb.

Oh and btw for comparison's sake Obama made more than ten times Bernie's entire net worth from one book deal so even by the standards of politicians who make money from their books Bernie is far from the upper end.

You have zero common sense kafir

you aren’t dumb

Sad :(

You guys can’t even hide it now huh? Do any of you care to dispute any of my points?

That's a good point, if anyone is a doormat is the Trumptards who watch him break campaign promise after campaign promise and cheer him on.

To be fair some on this forum have soured on him for this or that blunder. And others never liked him too much to begin with, saw his as the lesser of two evils. But the real sycophants are kind of pathetic.

Double post, delete it.

interesting choice of words considering it already has passed multiple times

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Revenue_Act_of_1935

I believe 1932 was the first big bump above Scandinavian levels of today, before FDR was even president. I'm not sure what exactly you imagine will happen when we go through another contraction or two as automation further ramps up, but I'd keep a more open mind about it

Look I know you’re not very original you don’t have to keep proving it me

As a matter of fact a fake communist “socialist” crying about everything while he has 3 homes is very important for optics. I know you’re a goof and can’t see it but when it comes time to put doormat in front of a general populace you’ll see it then

lol at this thread.

I have literally never seen a thread where @AlexDB9 didn't embarrass himself.

No, this argument makes no sense. Bernie would be subject to the exact same tax laws as everyone else. You couldn't make a worse argument.

Also, supercar?

The average tax wedge rate here is 35,7% and the average in the US is 29,6% for single individuals.
http://www.oecd.org/tax/tax-policy/taxing-wages-denmark.pdf
https://www.oecd.org/unitedstates/taxing-wages-united-states.pdf

For 6% more in income tax, we get higher wages, work fewer hours, paid maternity leave, 6 weeks paid vacation a year, have healthcare and not only get a tuition free education but we get PAID to get an education.

In Denmark the tax rates are insane (45%) if you make 60k a year, plus you are able to purchase suplemental insurance (doormats policy would not) and Denmark’s healthcare is run locally instead of the nationalized system doormat wants. Lol you literally got everything wrong there. Should have expected as much.
