He and EVH are Eamon's heroes. The majority of why we have so many guitars is Prince.Always surprised and impressed with what an awesome guitarist Prince was.
Good call on Sultans of Swing.
It isn't on tape that I know of, but on the Diver Down tour EVH's solo began with him racing across the stage playing the intro to Mean Streets. He'd get to the other side and jam for a minute, then race back the other way playing the Mean Streets intro again. Over and over. He finished by jumping off of Alex's drum stage and launched into Romeo's Delight. I think I came ...
I saw them on everything after VH2. We had no smart phones and you couldn't smuggle the giant video cameras of the time past the gate, so you'd see the same guys in the front row at every show trying to figure out what the hell Edward was doing, especially the intro to Mean Streets. He was always cool to toss picks to you. To us he was fucking God.Yeah thats without question my favorite I can never play it quite right and ive tried. Knopfler was so underrated. The painkiller and Tornado of souls are IMO the two best heavy metal solos. Facemelting but still with soul.
That would have been a riot to see EVH back then, especially if you had no prior knowledge as to how he did half the shit he did back then.
