GIFS: Suga Sean O'Malley's win against Yan

I'm just talking about their skin types and stuff.

Peter Yan has a northern European skin pigmentation. It's pink and he's blond.

Sean O'Malley has a Mediterranean skin pigmentation. It's yellowish and he's dark haired and dark eyed (some Irish people are like this, like Colin Farrel).
You should start a youtube channel about skin types, skincare etc.
These posts are hilarious.

GSP wearing damage wasn’t as big of a deal considering he wasn’t getting out struck the way Yan was or looking like he was in trouble as often. Even the Hendricks fight GSP out struck Hendricks and won. He didn’t out strike him as grossly as Sean did Yan.

Sean had won the standup anyway you slice it (damage control and volume) and Yan was in trouble a few times. Yan basically won the fight retreating to wrestling because he didn’t like what was happening where he wanted the fight to take place.

Sean looks good win or lose where Yan who was suppose to brutally dominate him on the feet looks like a panic wrestler who was stalling.

You can see Yan was getting hurt in there and it wasn’t just superficial damage. The way he reacted and how he looked to retreat so many times is a great indication.

None of this happened in the first round though. The first round was close in strike count (Edge to Yan) with O'malley visibly retreating from Yan's strikes AND being taken down because of those strikes. People forget that O'malley was on the back foot and took the bigger strikes with some massive reactions running back into the cage. That's why Yan was able to shoot on him.

I think one of the things the judges saw in these rounds is O’Malley was landing far more head strikes. Yan was doing stubby man leg kicks and the majority of his strikes were low. It was basically the leg kick and takedown show. O’Malley was having more moments finding the head and doing damage (visibly or making Yan not want to be on the feet). The one number nobody is mentioning (they just mentioned significant strikes overall) is that O’’Malley out landed Yan 3-1 to the head and these shots (that do damage or get reactions from a fighter) count the most. This might actually be a situation where we got the judging we often want but because of who it happens with it’s offensive. People get mad when Yan loses via control time and mad when he doesn’t win with It.

you couldn't have cherrypicked these gifs harder. why not post any of yan's highlights?
lol exactly. maybe better to post the whole fight? no idea what that's supposed to prove.

O'malley didn't land more head strikes though in the first. How many do you believe he landed?
Most of O'malleys strikes were landed backing up to the leg and body. The rest were pawing jabs that barely move Yan's head and did not prevent him coming forward.
Yan landed the biggest head strikes of that round in particular a left hook that put O'malley back against the cage and led to the takedown.
O'malley landed two straight punches in that round that would be considered a significant strike. The rest were partially blocked or shots to relieve Yan's pressure on him.

No where in the scoring criteria does it say head strikes score more. I would argue the body shots that Yan landed that put O'malley back into the cage 2x were the most significant shots of that round besides the hook into the takedown. He reacted more to those shots than Yan did to any shots thrown by O'malley.

This threads gifs show how poor the decision was. 9 Shots actually land across the gifs and nothing is shown to really land in the crucial 1st round because barely anything did. The last is O'malley grabbing the cage to escape after he had grabbed it 2x prior and was also warned for grabbing the inside of the gloves when Yan took him down 2x in the third his best round.

It's the entire point of the thread.

<Huh2>

Anyway, I don't even think O'Malley believed he won. But he stepped in there and was competitive against a killer, good for him. Proved a lot of Sherbros wrong.

if you read between the lines the entire point of this thread was bad faith -- a way to foster the narrative that this fight wasn't a robbery
nobody just collects one side like this

I think TS was secretly trying to show O'malley lost the fight. His HL includes a fence grab to escape a takedown that could have easily been cut to show that never happened.

Enough of rewarding fighters for meaningless takedowns. F..k Yan, russkiy durak lost rightfully.

I think it's hilarious when people claim "robbery" over a fight that was VERY close. Yan clearly won the 2nd round, O'Malley clearly won the 3rd. So it comes down to the 1st round where Sean slightly outlanded Yan but Yan got a brief takedown where he did little damage. The first round really could've gone either way. No robbery took place; just a razor close fight. Good for O'Malley showing that he belongs in the upper echelon and shouldn't affect Yan's career either. He will get another top 5 fight next. People are so unreasonable.
Couldn't of said it better. Sean was slammed in a 30-27 according to sherdog lol. It was a damn close fight between #11 and #1. It is what it is. Enjoy the the fight or fuck off.
