I like Belal he gets a bad rap for not being that exciting MMA fighter media machine, the man should've been fighting for a title a while ago. The man does not turn down fights, always calling out dudes who are getting the UFC hype not for their fighting but for their following and doing very little in the cage. Belal is one of the toughest fighters at WW and always brings it. These are the guys Covington is supposed to be fighting if they were honest about trying to stay in the thick of WW, instead, Colby calls for Wonderboy another aging-out fighter. Give Belal his long-overdue title shot.

The same way Belat feels no urgency to make a statement in a fight, the UFC feels no urgency to put him in a title shot.

Sean Strickland's fight style is boring as shit too. So was Colby's. People need to stop using his fight style as the excuse, they just don't like his personality.

Sean got the title shot because of timing. DDP was supposed to get it but the UFC and Izzy were trying to get him to fight in Australia in 9 weeks and due to injury DDP could not. Sean had two wins and was willing to take the fight on somewhat short notice and caught lighting in a bottle.

Colby is a weird one because I don't think he's a draw but it looks like the UFC perceived him as being on brand so they pushed him hard.

TBH even if Belal was in Strickland's position, UFC still wouldn't have offered him the fight. Belal's timing has actually been pretty good, Leon didn't have any realistic opponents after he beat Colby besides Belal (Shavkat was injured) and the UFC still passed him over.
