Is jon jones vs Alex Pereira the biggest fight to make besides conor fighting?

man u dont really learn do you
after more than a decade u still doubt jones

what a weirdo
theres not a singla man here on sherdog that would bet money against jones if this fight happens

this fight is the most 1 sided beatdown and it aint even fair for pereira

No man is unbeatable.

Jon Jones' record is a laughingstock compared to the first 130 fights comprising the boxing record of the peerless Ray Robinson – who eventually lost also.

Or Duran (72-1), or Chavez (89-1), both of whom eventually lost also, as they aged and went up in weight.

You are a fanboy, a lick-spittle, servile punk, not a knowledgeable fight fan.

Jon Jones is not invincible; no one is.

Especially when they are old, shopworn, drug-worn, and not in the same condition.

It has to be right up there at the top when you remove Conor from the situation. Though I think Jones probably takes it to Alex fairly easy. Outside of Alex being able to keep Jones at range its all good for Jones everywhere else the fight could go.

With Conor I think the Max vs Conor fight would sell like crazy later this year.

likely easy work for Jon. he's got a 5" reach advantage

alex is gonna have to close the distance somehow while avoiding the TD.

@ threadstarter..... that graphic you posted does make Jones look lazy for sure! Amazing stat : 9 fights vs 1 since Pandemic.

UFC never gonna do Pereira vs Jones as Pereira never fought at HW (yet) and Jones is very much on his way out and Pereira is very much the New Kid on the Block and it would be stupid to match them up. Doubt Jones would take the fight anyway, he's prob gonna pull the plug after the Miocic fight if that ever happens.

Pereira has already lost a fight he doesn't care he wants to be active
Jones is very afraid of losing and losing his invincibility so he acts like a pussy

potatoan would creampie jbj. no way dana lets this come to fruition.

As much as I would be ok with Alex getting the chance to challenge for HW gold. I think he gets beat handily by either of the 2 at the top. Jones is wily enough to not get blasted. And is just SOOO much better than alex in grappling along with being longer and bigger than alex(an advantage alex usually has) to leverage it with. Jones likely chokes him out within 5 minutes. And Aspinall is also a good wrestler and a LOT bigger than alex. And is quick on top of it to force that wrestling, and has some decent subs of his own. They're both just bad match ups for him i think. 2 big guys who can wrestle and have shown good to great ability to sub quality opponents, and are good enough in striking to not get decimated immediately. Aspinall realistically could even just KO alex with his speed and heavy hands too along with his grappling threats. But yeah it probably would draw some eye balls. Jones is Jones, and Alex is such an enigma at this point.

I think UFC realize that Aspinall would PROBABLY submit Pereira fairly fast at HW and they do not want their new WunderKid Pereira losing anytime soon.
Dana said in a recent interview (post UFC300 presser I think) that Pereira sticking at LHW is fine for him, so I don't see UFC letting Pereira fight at HW any time soon. Maybe someone like Pavlovich or an "ordinary" HW but not likely a submission specialist like Tom Aspinall.

Equally..... they wouldn't want ASPINALL to get flatlined either. Neither is a smart business decision.

So..... they're gonna keep Poatan in his lane at 205lbs for the forseeable future and let Heavyweight just play out.

for someone that despises jones for doping, you sure seem to be showing signs of roid rage. Jone's record is a laughing stock? Is Daniel Cormier, Rampage, Machida, Chael, Bader, and Texeira scrubs to you? You insult the other dude for being a "fanboy" and here you are overlooking some of the finest athletes that the sport has ever witnessed.

Jones has more title fights than Alex has in the UFC....even with Alex's slim as fuck time in mma, he has already lost twice. Once to Izzy and another time to a WW plumber that does mma as a hobby. I think in the grand scheme of things, Poatan has looked more beatable than Jones despite his astronomically lower time frame in the sport.

I get that Jones is a diva and Poatan seems to cultivate fans easier by just being a nicer person on top of giving a prestigious striker. But to compare the two in terms of mma accomplishments is unfathomably retarded with one of them having a single title defense with a rusty Hill.

Forget Gane, Jones couldn't take Dominic Reyes down, and he couldn't keep Thiago Santos down, so what makes you think he could either take (or keep) Alex Pereira down?

Worse, in the standup, both Dominic Reyes and Thiago Santos both made Jon Jones look bad, and Alex Pereira could whip both Reyes and Santos on the same night in a kickboxing fight.

Therefore, how in the world do you think Jones has "an easy win" or some kind of "lock" here against Pereira?
Even in his prime, Jones barely be Alexander Gustafsson, who is absolutely nothing as a kickboxer compared to Alex Pereira.

The fact of the matter is, right now, Jon Jones is decrepit these days, while Alex Pereira has never looked better.

Thiago Santos pre surgery starches Poatan. Easy.

You are a soulless heretic.

Jon Jones has the greatest SOS of anyone in THIS sports history. In THIS sport fighters don't do 70 or 80 fights. In the early days that was sort of a thing. Today it is not. The record for UFC wins is 20 something.

This would be a great fight to watch.

But the excuses would come in as soon as it was signed

-Poatan is too old
-Poatan is really a MW
-Poatan has no ground game
-Jones cherry picket him
minus the "Poatan is too old" those are all FACTS.

Poatn fanboys are overly euphoric about him because he's exciting and goes for it but he's vastly overrated by UFC fanboys.

The reality is he arguably lost to 43 year old journeyman Jan Blachowicz. Poatan is a beneficiary of decline in talent at MW and LHW.

Jones would take him down and submit or TKO him pretty easily more times than not. Even the washed up Jones of today. Poatans overall MMA game is mids, it just hasn't been exposed yet because he's been fed nothing but strikers.

It could be interesting though because Jones is well past his best days and coming off really nasty injury. I'd welcome this fight but both Jones and Poatan fanboys will over inflate the significance of this win.

You are a green clown.

In MMA, no one compares to Rickson Gracie's 400-0.

Jones' opponents are mostly laughable old jokes, smaller than him, and aging.

There is no fighter in UFC history who is more of a "weight bully" (completely out-sizing his opponents) than Jones.

At LHW, he even outsizes Pereira, who outsizes everyone else.

Face it, Jones beat mostly aging midgets who moved up in weight, and struggled with everyone his size that he ever faced..

Gane was a similar opponent but bigger. I'd rather see Jones against Aspinall or Pavlovich.

Imagine shitting on a 6 ft 4 guy fighting at LHW to defend a 6 ft 4 guy who fought at MW.

Aspinall has horrible defense; he gets destroyed by Alex on the feet.

Aspinall's sparring is actually painful to watch his technique is so bad ...

I agree, though, he beats Alex easily on the ground. Just too big.
