Alright, so we all know the greatness of Led Zeppelin and their amazing music.....but what many ignore is who was the greatest influence on Jimmy Page and the lads.
I am a huge fan of Johnny Kidd & the Pirates from day 1 and also of the Pirates after Kidd's tragic death. This band is probably the greatest UK rock band in history, but very few people even know who they are !!! Along with the other great r n r icon Tommy Steele, they forged the UK rock scene for the better. I have all their albums and one of my fav iconic songs is "Gibson Martin Fender" among others
Finally someone has shed light on their influence on other iconic UK rock bands.....it's never too late for true acknowledgement .

"One day I'm gonna have a band like this": Jimmy Page on Johnny Kidd & The Pirates
Knocked up in a hurry, intended as a B-side and with a title the band were all originally “ashamed of”, Shakin' All Over was an instant hit and a huge influence over those who followed
