Younger Jones had issues with Santos and Reyes and those fights were pretty rough. Alex is a MUCH better striker than both, has more power, setups and distance control. Jon is much slower now than he used to be.

He took 3 years off specifically to make sure he wouldn't be fighting guys bigger than him, fought a white belt that he outweighed, then signed to fight a 41 year old whose last fight was 15 lbs smaller than him, and was planning to retire without fighting any of the guys bigger than him.
