Keyboard Jockey Attempts Two AR-15 Builds

Factory magwell adapters for the MCR belt-fed are like $120. To save money and for something different I picked up one of these canted M249 adapters for $65.

In order to work on the standard AR lower it needs this notch taken out where this flange meets the main body. Otherwise the adapter won't be able to insert far enough to seat.

So I busted out a circular grinder and a file. My work was nowhere near as clean as the picture above. I scraped off a bunch of paint and managed to take a little off the magazine catch protrusion. lol. Oh well. Threw some aluminum black on it. Looks terrible, but works! Next time I'd skip the grinder and work it down with a file so the whole job looks much cleaner.

I'm wondering if the canting of the nutsack is going to aid feeding.

Do you have a dremel?

I got a Daniel defense m4a1 upper . I'm doing a "short mod block 2" going to get the barrel chopped to 13.2 inches.

Also I got to see In flames headline a show in Columbus finally. Did a meet and greet with them which was cool.

You ever get that rifle figured out?
I did notice a slight misalignment in the gas block, the carbon rings around the ports weren't concentric. But up until recently, the weather was too shitty to shoot in. I'll check it out soon, hopefully.

Some interesting cerakote builds from a local shop here. Had no idea I had a good shop nearby. I'll probably try them out at some point.

Tbh I don't remember what I paid Blown Deadline. I think it was around $300 after shipping both ways, single color including partial assembly on lower, didn't want to scratch it accidentally after paying for cerakote haha.

Thanks. I should get a quote from them and BD then finally fuckin' do this. The perfect is the enemy of the good.
