This is the perfect point because you're right. It's not about who said it first. It's about the palpable reaction when Trump said it. The entire machine and its rubes turned and laughed at him for in your words essentially repeating Obama. Why do you think that is? Did Obama have people talking about how embarrassing he was for our nation with that suggestion? Was he laughed out of the room by smug soft handed Germans? Ask yourself why he wasn't. The idea was the same by your own admission.
