I don't think this is a coincidence, in March of 2022, UFC was sued for allegedly violating USC 2710 18 U.S. Code § 2710 - Wrongful disclosure of video tape rental or sale records | U.S. Code | US Law | LII / Legal Information Institute (cornell.edu)
You can find the complaint for the lawsuit in my prior post here:

One of the key elements of an the violation, is that UFC's disclosure of fight pass user data to facebook has to be done "knowingly". This is where it will get complicated and why UFC's potential defense is going to throw facebook under the rug.
Facebook's java script that is taking the data is an "opt out system", this essentially means, UFC will share data with Facebook, unless it chooses not to. This has been a topic of debate for a long time. And it will form whether or not, an opt out system, where if the user did not go in and actively opt out of data sharing, it will be considered "knowingly" under section 2710.
UFC is likely to try to throw facebook's policy under the rug here, and challenge whether or not an opt out system is considered "knowingly" to defend against this lawsuit.
Facebook has been fighting to keep it's systems under an opt out system of data sharing, this will potentially put facebook and UFC on bad terms.
If nothing else, it would be good for UFC to look like it's on bad terms with facebook due to this current lawsuit.
2 weeks after this lawsuit is filed, Paddy calls out Mark...? Coincidence? Nah... I think not.
